Love your stuff... but I'm still waiting for a 4x12 full of Heritage G12-65 speakers...

Maybe someday soon?

Ola todos,

there's news in the famous pipe !!

We've recaptured and rerecaptured the Britgreen ;)

BritGreen3 ( f@"'$^good mics list ! ! ! ):

Neumann U47 Fet !, Electrovoice re20, Beyerdynamic m160, Coles 4038, Telefunken ak47, Audio Technica 4033, JZ3, Sennheiser md441

BritGreenPairs ( new stereo concept of capture !!!! )

BritGreen Pairs introduce stereo mic pairs in the capture process (usable in stereo only in WoS III and Torpedo Studio). To use it, you have to load 2 captures. For example, load the r121 Blumlein LEFT and the r121 Blumlein RIGHT, panpot it hard left and hard right, then fix the same value for distance and center. Now, you can virtually ear the Blumlein mic pair in the room. Awesome !! The BritGreen cabinet features here 4 pairs
XY U47Fet, XY shoeps cmc5, Blumlein c4038, Blumlein r121

About Blumlein pairs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blumlein_Pair

Note : If you use just one mic (U47 Fet Left for example) it provide a tilt mono capture !

We've also captured new cabs :
Fender Rumble 500 v3 call SilverRumble : 2014 2x10 bass cab
Revv Dynamis call Dynadream : 2x10 Boutique US combo loaded by WGS ET10. A slap !
Gretsch 6159 call Greatsh : Sixties Gretsch amp loaded by two originals Jensen P12P !!!!!!

!!! Keep in touch !!! :D

So what to say? Pairs sound very nice and it's good to hear the U47fet finally :-)
Nevertheless, some questions came to my mind:

- Pretty few highs so no need for a low pass filter anymore and even without it's hard to get some presence - am I doing something wrong or is this due to the nature of this special recording technique?
- Did you record the back sides in the same manner?
- Unfortunetly the pan ranges only to 63L/R in WOSIII - is this enough?
- What if I want to hear my guitar panned to one side? Can I do this with pairs and how's the best way to achieve this?

Last but not least - when can we expect the regular BritGreen 3? ;-)

BIG QUESTIONS ! :)

Here we go :

- Pretty few highs so no need for a low pass filter anymore and even without it's hard to get some presence - am I doing something wrong or is this due to the nature of this special recording technique?

We place the pairs front of the cab. So the two mics are tilts. Due to this angles the response is smoother than using a mic straight to the source. But this is notable for close miking. Far the cab it has less influence.
- Did you record the back sides in the same manner?
Exactly the same
- Unfortunetly the pan ranges only to 63L/R in WOSIII - is this enough?
Yes it is! It correspond to a totally hard panning.
- What if I want to hear my guitar panned to one side? Can I do this with pairs and how's the best way to achieve this?
It depends to the musical context and the kind of production. At this point there's no absolute rules. Typically the XY and Blumlein pairs are used to give to one source a stereo image. My only advice will be trust your ears and listen results on different systems (headphones, monitors, PA, radio player...).

Last but not least - when can we expect the regular BritGreen 3? ;-)
BritGreen3 is still is the pipe! But it will provide you the regular U47Fet capture and many others good things. :-)

Hope my answers will help. :)
