Gigrig midi14 user here..

But...

You can't top the new G2 by gigrig. Flawless. Check it out :)

The only flaw is the lack of availability in the USA...awesome looking unit.

Here is the USA link http://www.thegigrig.com/usa/acatalog/G2.html#SID=13. When you say "lack of availability" I wasn't sure if you meant that they are not for sale in the USA or that they are currently out of stock on the USA site.

Regardless thats a lot of cake for a switcher, although its additional features do justify its higher price when compared to some of these other switchers.

Oooohhh. A new contender enters the ring.....

Well unfortunately I am not in the market for a month of more.

I had no idea there were so many options. The Octa 2 still seems value/$ the best buy.

For the Octa Switch owners:

1. How quite/transparent is the unit?

2. Could you build presets of multiple effects going into different amp channels (clean, gain) and then switch between them?

1. It's almost completely transparent and also has a bypass switch.

2. Yes

I use neither but, based on this and your other thread, it sounds like the Octaswitch is more what you're looking for.

Also check out the Patchmate Floor version from Rocktron:

[Maybe you don't anticipate needing 8 loops to switch in and out though....]

I have one of these that I used before I got my ground control/gcx setup... This thing is fantastic! I may be bringing it back out soon to build a secondary rig for anyone that wants to come over and jam to use that doesn't want to haul gear.

i've heard good things about the racktron, i used the patchmate rack for a while it's pretty clean, i don't have any experience with the combinator

i used wobo for a while too, i really liked it a lot

it's clean and clever, i guess

i don't know if they are still in business though, i'm probably wrong though

other options are seen here

http://www.loopersparadise.de/

tons of floor and rack options EU shite though, i can't remember where you are,
