CCV FX Loop

I found the trim pot but there is so little clearance with the large bundle of wires running near it that is is hard to adjust.
It's close to unity at 3 o' clock on the fx mix knob.

As far as running cables near the transformers....it's not like I'm trying to get them close to any trannies.....just running them to the fx loop jacks.

The replifex is significantly noisier than the intellifex for whatever reason. I've ran the cables away from the power cables/trannies and still get hum.
May see if a friends FX hum through it...my guess is it is something with the rocktrons.

The CCV does seem to be a sensitive amp to cables, tubes, FX...pretty much anything.
Maybe the rocktrons just don't work with the newer CCV's...anyone else have intellifex/replifex to try with the new CCV?
If so please let me know if you have any hum.

Do you have the Hush block active on your Rocktron boxes? If so, disengage it. They work in reverse sometimes....

How are you guys discharging the caps on your CCV to work on it - dumping all the cans to ground or through V1? I missed one the other day and got bit.
Oh shit. I just pull the power cord while playing. Seems to work. I checked with a meter and found minmal charge left. Nothing I can't touch.

OK Sparky!
Sparky. :hys: I got allot of time in the amp and not one jolt. Ok I admit, My hand hit the top of can three in the preamp while the amp was hot and ah, you know. :jedi: :force:

I'm getting a tc g major 2 tomorrow and will see how it sounds in my loop. I use a tc flashback in ther loop now with no funny business. Now that I am going to be listening for noise it will probably sound like a am radio between stations.

If by any chance you mean trying my Axe-FX then that is entirely possible, but I would suggest leaving your CCV with me for probably 1 month so it can be properly tested.

Heading out of town tomorrow, be back sunday night.

Hey Chuck,
I am talking about you and your Axe....need to see if it hums in the loop.
Probably need to get another Axe...maybe I will if things go well....don't have the funds now.

Pedals, Charles! They're more fun to look at and keep you in shape - with all of the tap dancing and all!

I hear ya Rob,
Just wish this amp was not midi controlled then pedals would be the way to go.
Since I'm channel switching via midi figured it made sense to go rack.
I know the rocktrons get a lot of love but don't think they are working for me.
I will say as a two timing Axe-FX owner the Axe is way easier to program and has better quality FX.
Right now I'm just too cheap to get one...hoping the price of standards falls as the Axe II gains more popularity.
I would go with the intellifex only and a suhr minimix if I thought that would cure the problem, who knows it might sound better too?

FX loop not working? Um....first, make sure it is hooked up. This one was missing a decoupling resistor and B+ connection.

Whats that empty solder pad there on the left of the board. Oh shit. Wait a minute thats where your B+ should come on to the board from your screen supply to power it. Did you request the decorative loop mod or conversation piece loop mod :hys: :hys:

Yes, I am clinching my ass cheeks and grunting real hard to see if I can shit a 2 watt 100K Metal Oxide resistor over here in Sandland, the electronics capital of the world.

I've been reading a lot of issues with these boards recently. I guess quality control has gone down...
Dave, Not to take a thing away from George and this loops designer. It is one of, if not the best loops you can buy. The issues you have been reading about are 95%, maybe more user/installer error.

I think it falls under the "uh-oh", "oops", "oh shit", "sorry" category. Bang Bang or Boomerang or whatever the company was called should have better QA/QC control. And, I thought all these amps were played before boxed and all the functions checked out? Obviously not. Nothing to do with Mark or the Metro loop.

There is definitely some inconsistency in the chassis though. The few I have seen are all slightly different - buss wiring, wire color, heater wire twisting, fly leads, etc. With all that, the amps kick ass though. However, I do not expect to have to work on it when I get it. Even a new pack of Fruit of the Loom underwear gets a quality check!
