Band practice was cancelled this weekend, so I still haven't got a chance to really crank this amp up. Lots of drama and BS w/ the guys I currently play with. My area is extremely lame for music especially 80's metal. Needless to say I'm pretty pissed off that I finally get my CCV and the fuck'n pussy's I play w/ got to pull bs excusses ie, "I'm planting bushes this weekend... I'm tired from the work week, I think I'll just chill at home..."

I had the CCV sounding very similar to Warren's tone on "Lay it down." I've got the hottest 100 watt bedroom amp that no one will ever hear.

any chance you can post sound clips while on the wait? im a huge 80's metal fan myself. leatherwolf, RATT, scorpions, etc.

id love to hear the amp tuned to a simmilar ear as mine :thumbsup:

I'm not currently set up to do any clips.

I know a few of you guys have asked me for a more detailed review of the CCV. I wanted to hold off until I played this w/ my band, but as you have read the band is having some problems. I think I may get a chance to play w/ some other guys this weekend, so I'll follow up w/ review of the amps performance.

For the bedroom wanking I've been doing it sounds great, but this amp needs to be opened up a bit to get the goods.

Can you post some stills of you playing the amp in your bedroom wearing just ostrich skin cowboy boots and a baseball cap with a propeller on top? Just so we know it's really you and you actually have the amp.

I still have not had a chance to play this amp in a band situation (lots of bs band drama), but I'm enjoying the hell out of this amp! Sounds great at bedroom volumes and played it in the basement at moderate to loud volumes. The tone was even better!!!

Good job Mark, the CCV sounds great!

Cool to see my thread alive again!!!

Heres a quick update. The band I was playing w/ disolved right before I got the CCV. I've only jammed w/ it in a band situation twice and it sounded incredible. I've been using the CCV as a bedroom amp. It sounds great at low volumes, but that's not why I bought it. However, tonight will be the first time in a while that I'll be playing in a band situation. I'm excited as hell. I'm also rusty as hell, but it will be fun. I'm sure this jam will be a train wreck, but at least I'll have great tone :rock: Can't wait to crank the CCV up!

I am jumping in late in this post, so please forgive me. But I saw you have owned a Splawn QR and I was wondering how the CCV-100 sounds in comparison. I LOVE how the the CCV-100 sounds in pretty much every post/clip I have ever heard. I have also heard modded Marshalls with Ocean and Aldrich mods that just KILL!

I am a little intimidated by ordering/waiting time potential, when I can tap a QR fairly easily/quickly...................

I have heard QR's are pretty worthless until cranked; and can sound boxy if EQ/cabs are not selected right.

Any thoughts?

my ears defenantly agree more with Cameron's than Splawn, but have heard that Splawn has revoiced the Quickrod or is now offering a version that is voiced deferent. Splawn is a first class operation and his amps are great, they are just voiced deferent than Camerons. i'm really excited to hear that Splawn is working on some voicing now, becuase they are way cool and thiers cabs are some of the finest around!


i'd say to talk to CHUBTONE on this forum as he's a Splawn dealer, and/or talk to Scott Splawn and see what he says.


i want a Cameron CCV in a bad way, but personally gonna wait untill they're getting them out the door better, or snag a used one.

anyways, just wanted to give the heads up about what i heard on the Splawns.
 
;) Hey guys, let me add this. I own a Splawn Pro-stock, which is basically the 100 watt quickrod with no clean channel. I love that amp and would never get rid of it. Some of the best quality workmanship I have ever seen. That being said, the cameron amps seem to just be a whole different animal. I am very, very impressed with these new camerons. I would love to be able to converse with Mark Cameron, that way I could, be decent and not so much ask him his business, but just get a tad bit of 411 so I could then decide for myself about my placing an order. I think obviously like a lot of you guys, we have all heard somethings, but I also notice, guys that I think are very decent and trust worthy like Gainfreak and others, Kurtstuff for another and I could name quite a few more, have on more than one occasion stepped in to speak up for Mark. Also to call Bullshit on some of these issues. In short, the knowledge is there, the guy IS BRILLIANT ALSO. He just needs the EMBELLISHMENT, AND BULLSHIT TO STOP.
I just want to say their amps, just like Splawn ARE FUCKING AWESOME. :yes: Mark or Chris can PM me if they need to speak to me as I would love to be on the WAITING FOR A CAMERON AMP LIST. :thumbsup: :rock:
