Awesome news Rob...when it the eta for Toronto

Not quite sure - the FedEx site isn't providing an estimated arrival date yet. I'd guess around October 26, given Canada Customs' inability to process a package in less than 3 days.....

You need a PO Box on the US side of the border. Drive back to Toronto. Unless your last name is Patel, Canadian Customs are going to fuck you like a house cat.

Steve

You got that right. I have $455 in import taxes and $80 in FedEx brokerage charges coming at me via that CCV......That probably makes my CCV the most expensive CCV to-date. If I don't like it, I'd happily sell it to you for $3,800 + shipping, Steve....... :hys:

Nah, the Federal Republic of Canadistan export models are too pricy for me.....

Canada doesn't hit you when you export out of the country, only when you import into the country. It's your own fine Border Service/Custom Agencies (e.g., U.S. and, in your specific case Steve, Saudi) that ding you with the import taxes and duties.

Regardless, its ridiculous. I just purchased something that was MADE IN CANADA from a guy in the U.S. who bought it new, so his purchase price would have factored in any import tax the store paid when importing it into the U.S. Now, I am bringing it BACK into Canada, and my fine country is going to make me pay more tax on the import. Talk about tax on taxes. Ridiculous.

I make an intermediate stop with my stuff to a US address. Pull all the sales documents and ship it over as used and extremely devalued.

So you send it across the pond and through Saudi Customs basically uninsured?

For a lesser value, but insured for the same amount claimed as vsalue. I know that filing a claim would be futile anyway and I would be out of pocket and frustrated. So, it doesn't bother me in the least.
