If stock, the mode 4 cab will have G12K100s, not H100s. They are very similar, with the harder to find H100 being the better sounding one, slightly, due to a bit more midrange and not quite as scratchy a top end. They both need to be at explosive volume levels to sound decent IMO.
Older cab with H's......Scratchy?? Different from Fizzy??? I hated the top end fizz from the 75's, want to avoid that.....
I see now, its not a Mode 4 cab from the 90's, its a JCM 800
1982 cab from the early-mid 80's with G12H100s, right ?
If you play 70's classic hard rock, I wouldn't recommend either of the 100s, or 75s, all of which are in the same ballpark. Scratchy as in, they don't have the warm, singing highs of a Greenback, smooth chimey highs of a 65, or even the midrangy vocal tone of a V30. The 100s are a hard, not very compressed speaker that doesn't cream up much even when pushed, and its high end has a particular grain that isn't very pleasant compared to the others I mentioned IMO.
