I talked to Celestion and they suggested an X pattern. I think it's really personal.
Good point on the slant vs straight guys. Also depends on the speaker models as you said. I don't have any slant top cabs, only straight or slanted baffle.
That said, I decided to go all 4 Redbacks in my Bogner 412, just like my Bogner 212. I prefer it over Redback/Creamback. I find four Redbacks just sounds so good and I can always EQ in more highs and presence. No issues.
