Cheap strings….

Nobody lays on their deathbed wishing they had used better strings.

Guitars, on the other hand...
True but sometimes they do make a difference and given how much a guitar cost unless it's some 50 dollar string set or something stuff like NYXL makes sense sometimes for the guitar to bring out the best in it and the rig.

For 13-15 bucks last forever (up to a year or longer for me), sound great, don't kink or break IME and not a lot relative to the price of most guitars on average along with said rig and amps/pedals and the cost there. Aside from the bridge, nut and fretboard it's also a contact point and yeah you don't need super fancy strings but strings matter more than not from that perspective and what string you dig or are comfortable with sound wise or string tension wise too.

I like the nyxl’s…never been an eb fan….
Being on the west coast in SoCal was an EB dude my whole life or Fender strings dude until I tried NYXL about 3-4 years ago.

Still use Fenders but after using NYXL and also XL strings now, EBs just don't feel or sound as good to me anymore and I just can't use them anymore.

Growing up here about the only thing you could get was fender for electric and Martin for acoustic. When I strung that Sykes up with those super bullets it felt so good. I think they were nines….

Coated strings blow in my experience. You can get Slinkys for about $5 a pack. At least you could a few years ago when I bought about 35 packs of them.

D'addario EXL170s are F'ing awesome bass strings. On the Spector anyway. Got about 10 packs of those, but haven't needed more than one. They last a really long time. Especially when you no longer gig.
I buy slinky’s 12pk at time. Far more cost effective.

Not a coated string fan but roughly 2.75/pack for name brand strings… win imo… I have not tried coated strings in years but I have nurgle blessed hands (sorry for the warhammer 40k reference) so I thought I’d try them again. Dude has access to anything so give him a shout. Nice guy and took care of me.

Best feeling coated strings I've ever used. Don't like their coated acoustic strings though. They felt like shit.

Hi all! I am the seller of the strings. We have been a long time dealer for DR. DR unfortunately discontinued the Silver Stars and I purchased their remaining inventory of bass and guitars sets. I'm selling them so cheap just to move them. They were never a fast seller (hence why DR Discontinuing them). They are a great string and use the same coating as their other K3 coated strings like Black Beauties and NEON coated, but the coating is clear. So yes these strings are a deal!

At the moment I only have them listed on our Reverb store. Since these are discontinued I do not have any pricing restrictions, I don't have to list them at $9.99 per set for example... I normally only offer Free Shipping, however, on the Reverb platform specifically, it works best for me to list them at a cheap price per quantity with a small shipping charge that changes with the quantities purchased.

If one were contact me directly either here or on my website I will be able to work out an even better quote. This is for the DR Silver Stars or any of the other brands we work with.

I sell D'Addario, GHS, Dunlop, Elixir, Ernie Ball, SIT, String Joy, and many other string brands as well as guitars and other accessories.

I'm always happy to do my best for you so please do not hesitate to ask!

Jason
