True but sometimes they do make a difference and given how much a guitar cost unless it's some 50 dollar string set or something stuff like NYXL makes sense sometimes for the guitar to bring out the best in it and the rig.Nobody lays on their deathbed wishing they had used better strings.

Being on the west coast in SoCal was an EB dude my whole life or Fender strings dude until I tried NYXL about 3-4 years ago.I like the nyxl’s…never been an eb fan….

I buy slinky’s 12pk at time. Far more cost effective.Coated strings blow in my experience. You can get Slinkys for about $5 a pack. At least you could a few years ago when I bought about 35 packs of them.
D'addario EXL170s are F'ing awesome bass strings. On the Spector anyway. Got about 10 packs of those, but haven't needed more than one. They last a really long time. Especially when you no longer gig.
