yeah thats pretty much my live setting...i tune down to drop C usually...so maybe that makes it okay? haha ..ive always liked a biting guitar sound i guess. but it still sounds warm..and just cuts very nicely live. i find the herbert just really rips when i do that, and i get a lot of compliments on my live tone..so something must be right.

we're actually going on tour in Europe in May/June
our german shows so far are : MAY 28 – Berlin @ Magnet
MAY 30 – Koln @ Underground
MAY 31 – Herford @ X Club

and about the greenbacks....i was questioning my engineer wanting to use that cab as well...but he seemed to be right in the end. it sounded great! though..i will say, that it did sound like the speakers were going to explode at some points haha so we used the vh4 a little quieter than the herbert.

btw...I'm using a Gibson SG Standard at Drop C but I guess that the SG would be to "bright" for treble on 5pm

I should try some Les Pauls...
 
i've used ESP vipers ...kind of SG shape...and it sounded fine at the same setting! ..ive got 6L6 tubes in it as well...
 
aha, 6l6...but hey, IMO is the ESP Viper XY not compareable to a Gibson SG...
