Chinese Knockoff DemonFX vs the Real Friedman BE-OD

I've always wanted to try the "real deal" Friedman BE-OD pedal because someone sent me the DemonFx version for free a couple of years ago and I've been wondering how it stacks up. Now, thanks to my partners at zZounds, I got to do just that. And I get to share the results with you!

The clone I built actually has a couple of mods the original didn't (mid-range control & tight control).

I absolutely refuse to support chinese made musical instrument gear. I only support genuine made in the USA equipment that has chinese made PCP boards in them.

I tried the DFX chorus. Big letdown. colors yer tone really bad.

I did the same with the Thermionic Deluxe, and sold my original BE-OD Deluxe afterwards.

Turned out I used 1 'wrong' cap value (3.3nF instead of 2.2nF), so now mine has a smidge more mids in the 'low gain' channel.
One of the best, if not the best, amp-like distortions that runs off regular 9V and sounds great throughout the whole gain range.
