That's friggin hilarious. Since we all know EWSEthan has got the "hots" for John Mayer, and "wets himself" to his music ;). Cue up "My Body is a Wonderland" and EWSEthan will definitely make a b-line right to the bathroom to "take care of business".....

COD + Xotic BB .. hmmm :D

Since I use EMG pickups, I have the EMG preamp boost switch on my guitars to give me a "boost" like that w/o having to have pedals for that :). That's why I've never really needed a "boost pedal" because I have it built into my guitars!!!! I just use a Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive here and there. It's been an awesome pedal for me.

Maybe I'll pick up one of the BB Plus. How does that compare to the BB, do you know?

Nice SRV type stuff

Whilst we are talking about the COD module , and reading that it is between the Dumble and the Boogie Mk IIc.
How does it fare at the rockier end of the spectrum
For example - a few of my fave Boogie IIc players are Brad Gillis /Jeff Watson (Nightranger) and John Sykes (Whitesnake 1987 was done with a Boogie Colliseum apparently).
Does the COD do the searing lead lines associated with those players or would the MHG fare better for those?

I have a Fender Prosonic that has Boogie like gain on the dirty channel - would the COD match up to that?
The Prosonic is one of the amps that I intend to sell to make way for the Eggie but it would be nice to have the same capability with the new amp

The COD has a unique "rock" tone that's pretty mid rangey. It has this bell-like tone that really is awesome for soloing w/ Humbuckers. I'll throw some stuff down later this weekend and let you decide :).

Actually a clip of "Vultures" will probably only produce a relatively decent semi. But if you really want to get me going, give me some some "Who Did I Think I Was?" or "Good Love Is On the Way" !!!!! OMG :inlove:

Oh, and its "YOUR Body is a Wonderland" Eric, not "My Body is a Wonderland". Come on man... get with the program! :D

Oh sorry man. I thought John Mayer recorded a special version for you. "My Body is YOUR wonderland" ;)

Sorry, I'll get it right next time ;).

After seeing those pictures of Mayer in Borat's lime green man-kini thong, it's safe to say his body is no wonderland.

Not for the squeamish:

Eric, what a great sound! I was wondering if you could make a quick clip of COD with more high gain setting? A little bit of fusionish type of sound...or something.
I just posted this to the "Motor City Pickup Clip Collective" thread.

The first 2:20 is of the COD similar tones to what people were looking for I think. If not sorry!!!! :)

-----------------------------

I have a Heritage 140-CM Les Paul. The main difference between a normal Les Paul and mine, is that the thickness of the body at the rim is 1.5" instead of the standard 2". Makes it so much nicer because it's lighter, but still tons of tone!!! It's a mahogany body, with a flame maple top. It has a mahogony neck w/ rosewood fingerboard.

I recorded everything w/ my normal setup which includes my Egnater M4, Lexicon MPXG2, VHT 2/90/2 w/ 6550s, and my Grendel Dead Room Iso Cab w/ Celestion G12T75's mic'ed w/ 2 Shure SM-57s.

As far as MCP pickups, I am using a set of afwayu's. They are a matched set that Wade made me w/ Nickel plated covers.

Here is a listing of what's included in the clip:

Start - 0:20 - COD ChA (Gain on 10 oclock) with a Voodoo Lab Microvibe and Lexicon Reverb and Delay, Bridge Pickup Afwayu
0:20 - 1:36 - COD ChB (Gain on 2 oclock) with a Voodoo Lab Microvibe and Lexicon Reverb and Delay, Bridge Pickup Afwayu
1:36 - 2:20 - COD ChB (Gain on 2 oclock) Bone Dry (no effects), Bridge Pickup Afwayu
2:22 - 3:22 - EG5 ChB (Gain on 2 oclock) Bone Dry during heavy part, then EG5 ChA (Gain at 10 oclock) w/ Lexicon Phaser, Reverb, Delay, then back to EG5 again, Bridge Pickup Afwayu
3:23 - 4:21 - EG5 ChB (Gain on 2 oclock) Bone Dry, Bridge Pickup Afwayu
4:21 - 4:47: -EG5 ChB (Gain on 2 oclock) Bone Dry, Neck Pickup Afwayu
4:52 - 5:11 - DLX ChA (Gain at 1:30) Lexicon Chorus, Reverb, Delay...Bridge Pickup Afwayu
5:14 - 5:41 - DLX ChA (Gain at 1:30) Lexicon Chorus, Reverb, Delay...Middle Position
5:43 - end - EG5 ChB (Gain on 2 oclock) Bone Dry, Bridge Pickup Afwayu

Excuse the mistakes....I was just screwing around when I recorded this stuff :). I wasn't trying to make it a perfect take :).

Enjoy!!!

Wow, between the SRV-ish bluesy COD clips, and these, that's a really versatile Module... Very nice playing!

The clean channel of that DLX sounded great too. EG5 is definitely more of a saturated sound than what I usually go for, but I can't deny that it sounds fantastic here. Tight, and detailed, but great saturation.

Just stellar stuff as usual Eric! The COD stuff had a real AiC vibe going on that I totally dug!

EG5 was SLAMMIN!!! Nick you can use SL2 all you want, Ill have no problem using EG5 instead! :)

Eric, is this with 6550s or 5881s?

Nice "Pull Me Under" into BTW :D

Thanks man!!!! :) It was all w/ 6550s. I love my EG5. Best module ever made in my opinion ;).

Eric

Sounds like the Afwayu has a ton of output...I think my COD is almost clean with the ChA gain at 10 o'clock on some of my guitars...heh

Eric,

I had never heard the COD before & I like.

How would you describe the DLX A channel from the T/D A channel? And of course the EG5 rocks!

Nice playing!

Thanks for taking the time to record that clip!
