Starbucks tastes like burnt dirt. I just buy some shit from grocery store. Regular shit. I don't even look at the label. It's just coffee. Being all into coffee is feminine.
 
I don't drink coffee, but I love the taste of it. I will try a small taste if it is a quality coffee. There is a coffee roaster "Bunkhouse Joes" at the local farmers market...his coffee just tastes so fruit forward and delicious.
 
Dark roast, whole bean, grind on demand, french press, 1/2 tsp cane sugar, 4oz merlot.
 
I have a bro from work who bought a coffee farm in Colombia. I was amazed by having truly fresh coffee that was just brought into the country. All the coffee has to sit in a warehouse for at least a year before being shipped for processing and use. Freshly roasted and ground fresh coffee with raw rock sugar…it’s a thing to experience.
 
I buy a variety of green beans (about 17.5kg) once a year in bulk and use a Ceado Grinder and ECM Synchronika. I roast once a week with a Behmor 2020. Coffee shop coffee is usually a disappointment to me.
 
So I picked up a Coffee Maker last night. It was the last one on the shelf but I don't know how much it is yet because there was no price on the Shelf. I chose it because it's small and only make 6 Cups at a time, so cool. I don't need to make a whole Pot..

I get up to the Checkout and it won't ring up. The Barcode is not in the system.. Hmm, so now I'm the guy holding up the line. Girl calls Boss and they can't figure it out, but to ring it up, Boss goes to Coffee Isle and gets a Hamilton Beach Barcode from another product. Comes back and rings it up for $25 bux when finding out online at Amazon for $65! Got a break!

I figure the Hamilton Beach guy fucked up and put it on the Shelf when it was intended for another store.

  • I don't do Starbucks unless I'm traveling/at an airport and have little choice.
  • My son got us a bean grinder for Christmas and can taste a slight benefit.
  • Not sure it is enough to warrant the extra time it takes to grind my own beans.
  • We prefer Cameron's Highlander Grog. Sounds fancy but it is like a sweeter Folgers red.
  • I have some in a Folgers can actually at my cabin. Been there for months. Tastes the same.
  • So I don't buy into the whole 'freshness' thing. It's just hot coffee to me. YMMV
  • I sometimes need to speak a lot in my profession so hot coffee in the morning warms up the chords.
  • I now drink out of a Yeti cup because it keeps the coffee hotter longer, which means I drink less of it.
  • We have a dual purpose Keurig for canter and singles, which is convenient.
  • This post was in no way written with an abundance of caffeine.
  • When I used to smoke cigarettes', they were great together in the morning.

I have a small Grinder and you can get it powder fine. Brew that and it's really strong.
I also had some Coffee in an airtight container for years and it was definitely stale! The Maxwell House container in my Pantry is not air tight and it smells like Coffee when I open the door! Can't say tho how fresh it will stay.
 
Nobody likes Maxwell House.

Diary of a Coffee journey..
So far I did the MH Breakfast Blend which was good.
Then I did MH 100% Colombian but it was a step down with this funny after taste.
Now it's Gevalia House Blend which was much more expensive compared to a Can of MH, but it's by far better! Real smooth taste.
I thought it was expensive until I looked at the little bags of whatever which were even more expensive than a whole Can of Gevalia..
