Hey, that's pretty cool!

I thought so. I've been using it to learn some covers. I haven't learned covers in a long time. I usually use my ear but sometimes I get stuck and this a great since it plays the tab over the drum track and has tabs for the different guitar parts and even bass. Plus they have a ton of bands and songs.

Holy crap, this is sweet. Why didn't this come out sooner!

To learn list:

Dream theater - Stream of Consciousness, The Big Medley, The Rover (et al.)
Killswitch Engage - everything
EVH - Panama, Talkin' 'bout love
Soundgarden - everything

What else?

you can turn different tracks on and off with the mixer. instant backing track.

Have you guys seen this site?" http://www.songsterr.com/

Thank you ..... I went to LZ The Rain Song right away. A lot of places have bad tab for this ..... this one was good. So I well guess they have it together with other tab.

I found that too. When you use the other tab sites, a lot of them are bad or just plain wrong. The ones on this site have been very good so far for the one's I've learned.

Is there any easy way to download the files minus guitar for backing track purposes ?

I don't think you can download but what I have done is turn off whatever you dont want using the mute button in the mixer ,get it set just how you want it. Then I open up Audacity and run the song while recording it into Audacity. Then export as a wav from audacity.Wala! if you want to get tricky you could record each part (drums, bass, ect) into Audacity on its own track and add your own tracks and mix it however you want. You could also download tux guitar for free. That plays any Guitar Pro files and gives you more options than songsterr. songsterr is cool because you dont have to download all the files to play the songs.,its all right there.

I checked out the site. I like the format, real easy on the eyes, BUT, I only looked at 2 tabs and... Judas Priest - Hell Patrol = WRONG, Gorguts - The erosion of saninty = WRONG

That's a really cool site for sure, for the first time in my life though I wish it was actual music instead of tabs... I've spent all this time learning to read music and now I don't read damn tabs anymore LOL, honestly a combination of both is the most useful, because just chords and notes doesn't always show the total story with out correct positions and reading the music is actually faster than reading the tabs now.

I also feel a combination of both is best.
