Cornford MK50 / Aiken Intruder / Elmwood Modena M60

I'm not entirely nucking futs...the Aiken has been around for a couple of years. The other two were sort of unexpected. There's no way financially they can all hang out but it was a chance to get the Cornford and the Elmwood in the same room to decide.

We'll see what J-Dub has to say, hooking up with him today. I will say that both are pretty awesome. The Cornford is very much like a mini SLO. The Elmwood is very unique - this was Todd Duanes old head in those youtube clips.

is that your chair in the corner?

For a second, I actually thought that it was relating to Custom Audio Electronics stuff like you got an OD-100 or something.

Dude.........you have lost it

MK50 is my vote and wet / dry that bitch with the new Eventide delay pedal

Keep the MK50 just so half of Rig Talk (myself included) can be envious of you.

There's an MK50 for sale on TGP if anyone's looking for one...

Can the MK50 or the Modena get close to the AIKEN when it comes to dynamics and directness?

Nice!! i would love to try the modena!! that said, the cornfords did absolutely nothing for me when I tried them. Kind of strange since i dug some of the clips . I found that I had to crank the shit out of them to get anything resemblng the tone one some of the clips, which kind of ruled them out for me. i also watched guthrie play one at Low volume at NAMM and his tone suffered.

I really think you'd maybe like the Modena Ralph. Its pretty liquid in the high gain but retains string definition pretty well Also does the low volume well.

It's a cool amp. It's the most "different" amp I've owned as far as having a voicing/vibe of it's own. Very cool mids with a huge tonal sweep. Very, very smooth. Just like your......ah, never mind. :D

My vote is for Elmo.
I was hoping the thread was about CAE. Those CAA/Suhr OD-100 SE+ sound pretty hot with the new mod, so I hear.
Here's a vid of your guy Shane Gibson playing the Modena, Ralph. Sounds good even in the shitty sound quality.

The Aiken Intruder is in a class of its own. I could honestly just get rid of the other two and be perfectly happy with it, and in fact may do just that.

The Modena is its own very unique little beast.

The Cornford is a screamer too, likes some volume before it really sings but its only 50 watts and can still get waaaaay loud. Awesome sounding amp.
