How does the Aiken feel and tone wise compare to the Modena?

The Aiken doesnt have the gain of the other two, but overall has a much truer plexi style tone and feel. The cleans available with the Aiken far surpass either of the other two. The Aiken with an OCD in front of it is about as badass of a hot rodded Marshall tone as you could want.

You have to put black chicken head knobs back on that Cornford....

Nice set of amps my friend! I think you need a Wizard now too

O.K......hooked up with J-Dub this afternoon. Played both heads through my old basketweave Marshall 4x12 (everybody has my old gear  )

We both agreed, both amps sound killer....

However, we both agreed the Cornford captures more of what we both are looking for in amps. The MK50 was less compressed and had far more 'teeth'...the MK50 has a certain big quality to it the Modena doesn't.

The Modena has it's own thing going on, but in the end might not be that that 'thing' I'm going for. Back to the less is more approach. Until Aiken gets the Sabre redesign done I'm through with channel switchers. I want an amp that does one thing exceptional rather than a couple pretty - really good. And the MK50 is exceptional.

It aint over till it's over, but the Modena is likely looking for a a new home.

if your not into channel switchers its not a fair comparison ... nill and void :)

MODENAAAAAAA

I knew you would like the Cornford more than the MoMoney ;) What I picture you digging the Cornford does a better job.

nice amps, did want to note tho that is an older version of the modena. the standby switch is now a pentode/standby/triode 3=way toggle. It adds a little more to the dynamics, JB has had 1st hand experience with it.

I have one with that switch. I always run it in pentode. Has plenty of dynamics in that mode. The triode is darker and spongy.
