Couple of Rebel 30 Questions

As long as everything worked out nicely, Len, it's all good.

The only thing I would say is I like the clean channel better on the rebel. More Deluxe than Bassman, I would say?
But I love both of them.

Interestingly, I would never sau that my Rebel is noisy... YMMV?

As far as the reverb goes, I don;t use it on either amp. I can't stand reverb noise when I turn my volume pedal down. Just the way the reverb is hooked up is a little weird to me.

I would agree about the cleans, but to my ears they didn't hold at higher volumes. I think 30 watts just wasn't enough to do that.

What does YMMV stand for? I have seen it a few places.

Maybe it is just the individual ones I have had, but this Renegade and my old Tourmaster were definitely quieter then either of the Rebels I had. I am thinking it is design- the Rebel is working a little harder to get equivalent volumes, which I assume would push the noise floor up some.

Hey Len......Congrats Again!!

I like both my R30 Head/Cab and my Renegade 212 combo. My preferred overall is the Renegade 212. Most probably because of the 6L6/EL34 compared to the 6V6/EL84, however, both sound very good to me. I also like the extra useful features of the Renegade such as tube mix knobs (which are subtle but effective) and the more robust footswitch which includes footswitchable effects and solo boost. The solo boost feature is very useful to me when playing with my band.

I haven't had any problems with either of these amps, and don't find either of them to be noisy. For an easy grab and go amp to jam with friends, etc.....The R30 is my preferred choice. For playing live....my Renegade 212 is easily the right choice for my needs.

Enjoy! :)

Yeah I have really been enjoying the Renegade. the tube mix is a lot of fun and it is nice to have it on both channels. It is very clear and sweet sounding. It sounds good with the M13, which the Tourmaster didn't always. I did some recording with the line out. It was noisier than the Rebel 30 line out, but not as bad as the Tourmaster and sounded good. The footswitch is nice.
