No and Nick no longer mods amps. That was well before your active time - you’re about 10 years too late.

I bought this off of a friend who was helping a widow sell things that her husband once owned. This was one of his amps.

I'm still here =) didn't say I wouldn't do mods .... just very busy and not my top priority , kid #2 due in June and very busy with audio production work..... but I still do them when i can.

If I ever want another modded Marshall I'd contact Jeremy for sure. Hermannson's sound great too; but that's a much more expensive venture and Jeremy is here in the states...plus he's one of our own. Not that Henric isn't; but at this point I'll bet he's backed up for quite a while.
The Hermansson stuff is special without a doubt. I just got a 3 stage of his and am dangerously close to my 5 stage coming up. It’s a long wait (I think I’ve been on that list over a year) and I also feel Jeremy’s mod is closer to a traditional Marshall sound as well.

Looking for some opinions from folks who have owned an amp with the Cameron Aldrich mod.

What current production amp gets closest to the Aldrich mod tone?

Correct and incorrect answers welcome, I’m hoping to get some ideas before this thread descends into complete chaos lol  :censored::rock:
+1 for @RedPlated
Jeremy is great to work with, superb work, great price.

I can say that the Aldrich mod you sold me Nick, was one of the best sounding and best feeling amps I’ve ever played.
Glad your still doing some side work and congrats on the incoming baby!

thanks brother ! i hope all is well by you !

I want to air something out here and be crystal clear to everyone, I am NOT an amp company nor will I ever be. The #1 thing that is annoying AF are amp "companies" popping up claiming to have new circuit designs after they've seen or gotten their hands on something cool and copied it .... yea yea yea ... we all know the rest of that story.

I am not that guy , i've seen , purchased, owned , borrowed and documented alot of killer amps over the years of being here and sometimes will do an amp for someone when I have time. I have come up up with a few cool little things of my own along the journey too , which has been for pure fun.

It is really annoying to me when I see someone here saying they're going to share a circuit/amp I worked on with another someone who is an amp company here.... not cool.

So let's be very clear I tinker with amps. I know all the tricks to get those tones under the hood of the camerons and some other amps to a T. I never have claimed that they were my own ideas or designs, and ive never shared them with people for the exact reasons ive stated above. This is really just for fun for me. I have very specific reasons why I feel entitled to be able to do the Cameron mods, if anyone wants to know what those reasons are can shoot me a PM or call me and I'm glad to share my stories. =)

Thats all i got !

Nick-

Just gonna drop this clip of a Cameron aldrich done by Nick as a one off.

Psychodave is the one playing.

I’m sorry lol

Thank you for posting this! I immediately thought of this clip when I read this original post. This amp slays. If I could give dough to a true forum member for an amp like this, I’d empty my pockets.

As far as that slippery, greasy, easy, fun to play lead tone from a production amp, my first thought is EVH EL34 Red Channel.

And if I had the dough for an EVH EL34, I’d pm Nick. Just sayin.

I don’t think there is an amp in production that does the Cameron Aldrich tone. I recently spent months tweaking my own version of the Cameron Aldrich mod and would be willing to do it for people. If interested hit me up and we can discuss.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with being stuck in the 80s. My theory is we are all stuck in some decade, depending on your age. It’s a happy place. For me Miami Vice, Revenge of the Nerds, Ratt, and the introduction to shaved cooters in porn…. Nothing leaves scars like the above; I like it.

I like hardwood floors. Maybe an occasional throw rug

Wall-to-wall carpet is plain nasty

I would have to agree with the opinions on Ground Zero mods and amps. I tend to like his modded Marshall's the best while they have all of the grunt and raw edged bite the Camerons having played a Cameron Ocean at length the Ground Zero amps just have all of what I liked in the Cameron but still Marshall at it's core tone IMHO!

I also think the Naylor Duel's sound very Cameronish to my ears as well but the Ground Zero amps just seem to have it to my ears!

I think Blakes video speaks for itself!:2thumbsup:
