I ordered this back in March before getting the Super Twin. Nik had to source parts he normally doesn't use so the AC-100 clone took a lot longer than expected, but it was great building experience, Nik is great communicator, and in offering options and ideas.

I have the full set of new tubes for the Super Twin, just need to get around to it. The seller said it worked fine, so I'm hoping tubes got damaged when UPS cracked the frame, and if not, there's only one small shop nearby doing tube amp repairs that I'd have to take it to if it needs more help.

90% of the value is possession of the amp; the remaining 10% of the value is getting it working :D


edit: besides, I've been in my keyboard focus mode since May...until my AC-100 arrives
 
That amp looks awesome. Love to hear a clip. Nik is incredibly cool to work with. I wish he would clone a Bogner but he never will ha

Delivered.
The box looks good; one dented corner of the box...will open the box later today
 
Unpacked and looks undamaged from UPS. I plan to try it later this evening!

Congrats! Nik is a cool guy to buy from. He has always been very straight up with me. There have been several times that he could have sold me on something and made a profit but instead pointed me in another direction that ended up saving me money.

agreed. It was a very informative experience. Nik is very knowledgeable and has great communication throughout the process, and is quick to respond to emails.
 
Tried this amp out last night, and all I can say it is the most open and raw amp I ever played, or remember.

Volume at 9 o'clock and it's already roaring, it gets louder to about noon, then starts to really saturate. Cleans up nicely with guitar volume, but has a lot of bottom end. I can hear the Vox jangle and chime but it's overpowered by the raw power of this amp. Think Sabbath Volume 4 / Blue Cheer, it could be a doom machine, but boosting the treble and cutting the bass gives it more top end bite. With bass and treble at 0, it has a strong mid punch.

The sag and bloom when I hit a chord hard is noticeable, and the initial chord sound is very much Vox flavored.

Need to spend more time with it; so far so good tho'
 
Man, the picture and description is making my wallet nervous! I know you love the AC's too, it's not helping me any.
