Custom cab companies

I’ve got two Emperor cabs and a Stone Age. The Emperors are large, resonant, and straight, so I think they can be a bit tricky to control. Some additional dampening might tamp that down. I have a 4x12rs from them with k-100s and CL-80s that sounds BIG. The 2x12ss I just picked up has creamback 75s and I’m not as sure about. I have some Fane F70s around I might try out in there.

The stone age 2x12 I have is great, though it is tone-wise really different from the emperors. It is smaller, lighter, and tighter. It would have a harder time impersonating a 4x12 than the emperor, but it is focused, tight, and I can easily carry it up a flight of stairs alone. The Stone Age crew is also delightful to work with.

That’s unfortunate. I have one of their 4x12s that is hot out against @LPMojoGL ’s vintage g12-65 cab. Their cab are great in my opinion. I’m don’t recall corresponding with them.
Yeah, that cab sounds great. Dunno if it's the newer g12-65s, or the cab itself, but it sounds more open and slighter brighter than the darker, tighter 1980 Marshall.

If you were looking for a 2x12, I'd say 440 Live Cabs from Greg's Pro Audio on Reverb.
I had him make me a custom 2x12 with G12K100 speakers,
and this thing is built like a tank, and sounds amazing!

Gonna have him make another with a V30 and a G12K100!

As of now leaning towards KSR… I really dig the look of some of those natural looking cabs, but some of the things I’ve heard seems like they have some extra resonances going on that may not give me the tight punchy result I’m looking for.

I have a 4x12 from Mojotone, but got it when they were running a sale with free shipping. Otherwise, it would have been too expensive. I've had Sour Mash build several for me. They're great and probably the best price of them all. I'm talking to Reggie now on eBay about a custom job for my Marshall 4010.

These are all you need to know. Order either empty and prepare to have your mind blown as to what an efficient cabinet can do for throwing your sound out effectively and also what it does to low end performance and low volume playing.

I actually miss both of my Splawn cabinets. I only sold them for money at the time.

Ages ago, I bought a straight 4x12, slant 4x12, and oversized 2x12 from Splawn. I've gotten so many tempting trade offers over the years, but for some reason held onto them.

They're still among the favorite pieces of gear I've ever owned, just different enough from one another for me to lie to myself & justify having all 3.
