Cool, loved my Einstein and have been considering this v2.0...
D-Moll = When Einy met Herbie
That's what I was thinking it was, awesome.
Do you miss Herbert's headroom? Assuming you owned one at one point lol.
I have had a Herbert and played the VH4 for several years. I fought off the urge to replace one or both for the last year waiting on the D-Moll. Now, I don't see any need. Tomorrow, I will throttle the D-Moll up and peel some plaster off the ceilings and do a head-room check....
Exactly what I wanted to hear.
Balls, crunch, crushing and very controllable gain. The overall tone of the channels is really responsive to the amount of gain you set by changing the compression. Also, each channel having its own channel master and overall master, gives one more bit of output control. Being able to control output vs. preamp masters gives it a large pallet of possibilities. Which, is one reason I like the serial loop over the parallel loop in this instance.
Channel 3 and channel 2 seems similar in terms of gain, with 3 having a bit more, but 3 being more open and voiced a bit brighter. Being they share EQ, this is a good thing and makes it quite easy to dial up. Unlike some 2.5 channel amps that cannot seem to strike a good balance.
This amp has the Herbert MKII trannies in it and is just explosive.
Running it with a 412 Mesa Recto cab and V30's. Will give my Diezel front load a go today. But, I am thinking that is going to tighten it up a little too much. The amp is tight enough on its own. It is most definitely a V30 voiced amp though.
