Damn, looking back at Lead Zeppelin, they completely sucked!

After seeing their new shit that they are pimping on HBO, it is clear (and I always new this) that John Bonham was the most talented and greatest musician of this enigma band –Page and Plant suck! Page was always out of his range like Mercury.

Page is a complete joke. He even wrote that when he heard my father, Fred Gerlach, playing Gallows Pole on 12-string that he had a major revelation. My father is a 12-string master and builder. Page then went on to write and say that he, Page completely rewrote my dad's version of Gallows Pole and then called it his own. The reason, 1.) Page can't play a 12-string guitar, 2.) It took a shit load of LSD for Page to believe that he is a legend in his own mind.

Led Zeppelin was nothing more than a LSD cult band and they sucked and stole music from so many great musicians, and it is well documented. Black musicians particularly.

I like some of the songs, and can appreciate their songwriting, they managed to become legends before the Internet, downloading, myspace, home pages etc... That counts for something, I guess

Never been a big Zep fan. That said they do deserve props for what they achieved in the 70s. And slao desrve a good bitch slapping for leaving copyright off tunes...Williw Dixon suing them and winning comes to mind.
As for Page's playing, well he influenced a player or 12900383583, so that in itself is reason enough to give him props.
Not able to play 12 string...we're reaching on that one.

There are a couple things that LZ did that changed the face of music.

Killer, killer riffs.
Prototypical band persona esp falsetto rock vocals.
Demanding the bulk of concert monies, this in itself changed how much money could be made from music and sent $$$ skyrocketing.
Revolutionary production technique and value.

Whether or not Page was a sloppy player or Plant a crap lyricist or whatever, a band that truly changed the music in fundamental ways.

I'm not fan of Page's lead guitar playing, but Led Zeppelin was an amazing fucking band and wrote brilliant songs and influenced a shit load of bands and musicians. Jimmy Page is a genius musician...what planet are u from?
