I started digging out some old Nuclear Assault and remembered how sick the dude's lead was on this song. I know he was in TT Quick with the now lead singer for Accept years ago. I dug into some of that as well, and man, this guy's got chops. Killer player!

I was watching his instructional vid on YT just last week. Dude is a killer player for sure - he was great

Zakk Wylde is a big fan of Dave's.

He is super underrated. Guy would bury most of those 80’s metal players back in the 80’s.

Saw him countless times with TT Quick and NA. Last time I talked to him was at a charity show for Hurricane Sandy around 2015ish.

this is my first time actually hearing nuclear assault that i know of even though ive been seeing the name for as long as i can remember, its weird how certain bands that i should have come across at some point just somehow never happened. this is pretty cool

He doesn't play on this one, but Handle With Care is the best album, IMO.

Dude's only 43? He had to have been a teenager in TT Quick.

lol. Dave is around 60. They were playing out in the mid 80’s. It he’s 43 that would mean he was born in 1980-1. So the videos of him playing in the 80’s would make him under 10 years old with a beard and drinking. 🤣

Here is a video from 1987. With chest hair. 🤣

They must have is bio screwed up. Said he was born in 1981.. I knew something didn't look right! 1961 sounds more like it.

When they released Something Wicked after this, I cried a little that one of my favorite bands had lost its way after so much good shit, really peaking with Handle With Care. Didn’t care for Out of Order either.

Interesting. I just read that Glenn Evans, their drummer, was in TT Quick before he joined them back in the 80’s. Awesome drummer.

Yes, Something Wicked did suck. Dave's playing was really the only highlight.

When I worked at Kramer Jimi came in and was checking out the guitar they were doing for him at the time. Now, there was always a lot of guys coming in and playing and none of us ever left our bench and most just went on doing our work. Jimi had plugged in and all of us in the tuning section stopped and kinda walked over toward where he was {which normally wasnt ever allowed}. Everyone was floored by how clean and fast his notes were. I remember when he finished he said something to the effect that he couldnt play that guitar as it needed to be set up. LOL He was a super nice guy too.

Growing up in New Jersey and frequenting the rock club scene in the Tri-State area, two guitar players that are almost local heroes and to some degree, unsung heroes are Dave DiPietro and Ken Dubman (Prophet.)
