Dave is Great, as is the SS100v2

Got a SS100v2 and wanted an SLO/Ecstasy-sized head shell. Dave had the BAD team make me a BE-50 Deluxe head shell in SS cosmetics. Amazing!

Also, the amp is ridiculous. I always loved the SS100v1 every time I tried it but just didn't care for the cosmetics. The v2 sounds even better, is more flexible, and the blacked-out look is much more understated. The sound is between my Ecstasy and say a gained-up '69 Marshall SL. Higher filtering, but the amp doesn't feel like it is fighting itself as super-tight amps sometimes do. You can do the edge-of-breakup thing quite well, as well as that Ecstasy-esque zingy-responsive "thing". Best cleans of the Friedman line (Fender Twin profile) except the bright caps are more pedal friendly. TS-types into this channel sound terrific.

When I swapped out the shells, I inspected the board.

Wow, it is really really well-done.

Thank you, Dave

What it lacks is a direct out that could feed into an IR/XLR box. Also, I’m not pissed off I’m trying to make sure the amp is in focus 😅🤣

Very nice. I bought a BE50 custom tolex, but had I known the BE100 can fit inside the BE50, I might have ordered that instead. I did really want a clean channel over the plexi though.

The way I think I can run this live is clean, clean + TS type for edgy/Keith Richards, gain 1 for distorted rhythm, gain 2 for lead.

The clean channel is a surprisingly good pedal platform. So you really have a wide set of options.

It is the perfect alternative for my Bogners (Telos & 50w Ecstasy). More truly Marshall. (The 50w Ecstasy is really good though).

Congrats! The SSV2 is the probably my favorite Friedman that I have owned.

The SS channel on that amp is a masterpiece and definitely had attributes in common with the blue channel on my old '96 Ecstasy, namely the woody attack and great feel. Voicing wise, it does have a bit more Marshall in its DNA for sure.

Honestly, if I were personally doing a custom SS, I would have the clean and two of the SS channels.
