We are agreeing because no one is providing evidence to the contrary. :coffee:

Moaning isn't an argument.
I don’t come here to argue and framing my comments/opinions as moaning is childish at best.

I’m not bashing anyone for using or liking these plastic digital toys. More power to you.

So why the vague comment? What's the issue? "plastic toys" and other little digs etc

Oh good lord. Thread officially taken over by the Axe Gods. Have fun agreeing with each other.

Bro you know it’s not that, but when people say dumb shit like “they don’t sound as good” or l yea I could TOTALLY tell who was using a modeler live” in todays world and where technology is at, you’re gonna get slammed. You could make this argument pre kemper days, but now? Nah….if people wanna put their money where their mouth is I’ll be happy to post ACTUAL true comparison clips that are volume matched, same DI etc with any amp I actually own that has an equivalent model in the axe.

Better get the hurt feelings reports ready.

from the perspective of a 53 year old who "may play" four times a year live.

I still take my tube rig.

50 watt EVH Stealth
EVH 2x12
Krank 4x12
Headrush pedalboard

I love this setup and have the headrush in 4cm.
My sons watch me play now so load in and out is not that much or a problem for me anymore.

Having said all this....

If I were playing out twice a month or in a band that was really pushing to gain popularity playing more, I'd hands fucking down, downsize to a modeler and a powered speaker. the audiences I play to probably would not be there with an oscilloscope measuring the IRs compared to when my tube amp starts to break up and cut through in the mix...

with modeling technology as advanced as it is now versus ten years ago, playing with a modeler is a much easier decision now. I would not lose an ounce of sleep over it.

im surprised AI hasnt cracked the "tube code" yet and figured out an algorithm to recreate the tube feel, or maybe they have? if AI can make music now that we cant tell isnt human i cant imagine that code is far behind

I'm glad you aren't here to argue lol

I’d bet my last dollar this is already in the works with a company like fractal, kemper etc. or will be.

i wish i knew who was leading the charge, id be putting my last dollar down on that stock lol
I think at this point it’s not about recreating tone, it’s about ease of use. More intuitive UI, more convenient size/form factor…I’m thinking a floor based Fractal AXEIII that can also profile my current amps/rigs. That would get me to jump in again. I think the AXEII and Helix tones are amazing, can only imagine how the new Fractal stuff was able to get better.

ive been bitching for a simple single space preamp that does nothing but load amp models for forever now, one knob to scroll through amp models and then simple old school P/B/M/T and gain knobs that i can run into one of my tube amp loops or into my comp with the usb, i dont even want all the modeling or FX. basically an updated gsp1101. someone's gotta make one
