Decent VH4S comparison to the power ball I made.

Sean - If you like the Powerball, you'd love the SE. I wasn't a big fan of the Powerball when I owned it but I love the SE and Fireball. I got to play another Powerball a few months ago and liked it more thean the one I owned. I think I didn't like that Powerball because between the time I bought it on ebay and the time I received it I got to play a Herbert so it kind of ruined the Powerball for me.  A few months later I had my Herbert.
I actually just sold my SE though - replaced it with a Fireball and an EQ and a Splawn Nito since I really only used it for the heavy stuff and didn't need the extra channels/features.

Speaking of Diezel vs. ENGL...

Diezel 2, ENGL 0

LOL Funny you read my mind!! I sold my Powerball this week and Have ENGL SE EL34 version coming tomorrow. Yeah I heard, spoke with too many people about the SE and hear many clips and I did like the PB, so if the SE is much better than the PB, then I will happier than a pig in shit LOL

I am sure it be much fun trying to hook up that, the VH4S and a Roland JC-120 head into a GCX and GC Pro

I will be in Misery :(

If it's identical to 98LTS then you are waiting for a GOOD axe. I couldn't see the pics, the link didn't work.

I just got JS model & I'm pretty hot about it, but I don't make final decisions about guitars before the honeymoon is over. However as a rule of thumb guitars with lacquer finish resonate a lot better.

Let us know what you think when you get it.

i can totally understand u, every time i got into a music store and compared fireball and powerball the fireball won the game, its´ sound is a lot more defined and heavy, the powerball just has too much low end, or better said, the low end isnt defined enough, thats where the diezel play part. when i checked the einstein it just totally blewed me away its sound is so awesome thick and heavy but defined at the same time, i like the einstein sound more than vh4 because its attack is faster and i like it more than the herbert because it intergrates better in a band. the herbert is too heavy for me although i like meshugga tool and deftones riffin. btw my einstein is coming next week :)

coming back to the fireball, its a fucking great amp, the price is unbeatable. im serious when saying that only the diezel convinced me more than the fireball, if there wouldnt be peters little babes i would buy myself 2 fireballs ! :)

Yeah they say the ENGL Special Edition EL34 version is supposed to be sick, so I can't wait for it to complement my Diezel VH4S. It is coming tomorrow

My VH4S sounds sick, mad tight bottom and sharp cut thru. I contribute that to it was modded to EL 34's and biased (I just Like EL 34's more for some reason) and I got both front and rear loaded cabs spread apart. Much better than the boggies for the Diezel as it was too much bottom, and the PB had a lot more high end, so it was perfect for the Boogies.

I also just got a JC-120 head. Sickest clean I ever heard. I had the JC-120 combo and HATED the tone as it was Waaaaaaaaaaaay to loud and waaaaaaay to bright. The head into a boogie 4x12 spli stereo sounds sick.

have a listen, but don;t mind the metallica fan boy I am. I got a rare holy grail to us metallica fans so I was demoing the new pups in it as well as the new JC-head.

It is weird, because either my camera (nice high end camcoder) can't capture the true Diezel tone, or people just don;t like it. As on the ESP board people always rag on my Diezel dirty tones. I think I use too much bass and deep as I am a Bass freak. When my band gets a bass player I will have to tone down the bass

It seems like the room is too small for the amp, a lot of early reflections & bass build up, plus a lot of low end blows into your camera mic & it gets distorted.

As for people not liking it I've noticed a lot of people don't like Herbert tones too. I think that's mostly because that's not the guitar sound they are used to hear.

yeah it is a semi large finished attic with hard wood floors. I put down an area rug to absorb some of the sound. But still rumbles the cam mic. :(

If you seriously want to fix that room you will need to get rigid fiberglass, carpet is not going to absorb the low end. But looking at your setup I don't think you are into recording, so why worry about people at HC not liking the tone. Opinion is like a hole in the ***, everybody has one ;)
I for one dig it.
