Agreed, there is absolutely nothing "real" about "reality TV". If you enjoy it for what it is, sure, but the genre is so oversaturated and not even attempting to be "real" anymore that it takes a good show to pull it off. At least with pawn stars, it is all about the goods that come in so it is interesting. Love it when they screw people over with the same old story "look, I have to stage it, move it..who knows if it even sells?". lol

There's nothing random about that show at all. And that episode was probably filmed or arranged when Def Lep was doing its very long residency in Vegas. I went to see that store once and it was a total joke - 20 min. wait to get in the door unless you had something interesting to sell. In that case, they would take a look and schedule a time to come back to see if they wanted to put you on the show. NONE of the cast are ever at the store except when filming. I swear, my worst local Goodwill has better stuff than that pawn shop has. Nothing they buy on the show ends up for sale in the store. They sell lightly used watches for more than you can buy them for new at auth. dealers on the Strip. I think that store's income is from the show and the Chumlee t-shirts they sell now. I love pawn shops, antique stores, etc. and that one absolutely sucks.

All gripes generally agreed upon but I have to argue that this show is far more "real" than hardcore pawn and the fuckery going on in that shot show.
I expected her to get screwed harder than $8500. $8500 for the guitar and an over the pants hj? Would that have been too much to ask?

It was all totally set up - the producers were contacting people trying to find a splatter PC in the weeks running up to filming, even messaging people selling regular PC1s on ebay. Leppard had a new album out, so it's all about getting the brand back into people's minds. It's just the ridiculousness of the pretense that it's 'real' in any way that irritates me..

My wife watches so many reality shows it's ridiculous. All fake. Housewives this, idol, biggest loser...wonders why I don't ever watch tv. Cuz I say there aren't any new good shows like Dukes of Hazzard, McCastle and Cormick, Knight Rider, Threes Company, WKRP, Mcgyver, Riptide, A-team. It's all reality shit, Cop/crime investigation crap, or crappy comedy. Rant over.

Even though that was "setup", still was very cool.
When he started playing, I was thinking about all of us guitarists here on the forum and how with a lot of the shitty pop music, etc. out there, we are all a dying breed. We play an instrument and create music rather than just hitting a bunch of buttons and effects to create sounds.
