Let us review my comment in its entirety:
"I've been up all night doing the same things (many times) in my 20's. I would drive from Orlando to New Smyrna, Cocoa, Sebastian... without incident. On the other hand, I once wrecked a car when my overly emotional girlfriend decided to grab the wheel."
Andrew Aycock was likely "high" while driving the tour bus on a regular basis, yet he managed to navigate great distances and deliver the band to multiple locations without incident. Given what we know (via eyewitness accounts), there was clearly a struggle taking place in the cockpit. It is
more likely that the cause of the accident was the result of Randy's interference with the controls vs poor piloting. For your own knowledge and edification, cocaine
increases reaction time and coordination, not impair them. It is these attributes that made the drug such a popular additive; prior to being outlawed. The beverage know as "Dr Pepper" was conceived as a result of the effects of cocaine. It pepped you up!
If Andrew Aycock were drunk, no sober person would have gotten onto that plane, that much is certain. We will never know exactly what went on in the cockpit. We can only draw conclusions by what information we have; via those who witnessed the event. Should Mr. Aycock have been "buzzing" the bus? No, but that's not an uncommon stunt. I think many envision the plane "dive bombing" the bus, but this wasn't the case.
