well.....
I have
a VH4-S (2004) with the 6L6 tubes. Recently i got myself the new, German design, front loaded 4x12 Diezel cabinet with the Celestions Vintage 30's.....This cabinet,
even loaded with te V30's, sounds absoluut AMAZING! but.......
The problem i had was when walking around the stage while playing, i kinda lost my bottom end and the high freq sounded somewhat 'spikey'. When i stood near the amp it sounded fantastic again. .....So i did the research and ended up with the Celestions
G12k-100 (
thanks to Peter Stapfer!)
I hooked up the amp (witch is stereo) to the cabinet using the
(2x) 2x8 Ohm output:
This sounded NOT good, the response was kinda flat and hars sounding.
I hooked up the amp to the cabinet using the (
2x) 2x16 Ohm output:
This sounded amazing….brutal…dynamic…responese.
so now with the G12K-100 loaded:
- The spikey highs are totally gone.
- The mids are more full “rounder” sounding
- The lows and especially the bottom end is really amazing.
No matter where I stood in the room, the dynamics where
in my face all the time. At one point I even had to turn the amp volume down and still could hear all details in the highs mids and lows. The bottom end “thump” with these speakers is really incredible…..The speakers still have to “break in’’ but sounded amazing even at this stage of speaker stiffness…..
The G12k-100 speakers with the FL 4x12 cab really brings you in to an other dimension.
Now….my next goal is to get myself a Diezel
RL 4x12 cab with….the
V30’s and use both cabs is a stereo setup…..
aaaaaaaaaarh I cant wait!
What Peter Stapfer says in this video interview is totally true!!!!!!!
