I like the white one better, but it would look like camouflage after a while with all that beer on it
-hahaha-

Hey ! Just joking !!! ;)

well i wouldnt care about the colour. first of all i love the white, and second i would do it my self in case i ever wanted to change the white....

Yes, super great.
It feels like having a secret weapon in your hand.
Clear, brutal and great tones.

And I know now, how it feels to want them all ! :D

Is it even possible to make a 25 watt VH4?! I can't imagine it would sound anything like a VH4.

I think there might be a good reason why there are so few, if any, high-gain low wattages amp out there. Because they just don't have that huge sound to them. And most heavy rock guys, including myself, like a nice bit of clean headroom and oomph to my sound. Anything less than 20 watts wouldn't really get that for me.

Maybe the Schmidt is an ideal compromise. It doesn't sound very much like the VH4, but it still sounds like a Diezel.

I had YellowJackets (El84 20watts? per pair) in my VH4S for a while. It didn't really change
the tone or perceived loudness that much, just made the bass kind of flubby sounding.
Overall I didn't think it sounded as good so I put back EL34's.
Somebody posted a long time ago about replacing 2 of the 6 power tubes in a Herbert with
Yellowjackets and having good results...

i love you guys talking about different tubes in herberts, honestly i do. But in the end the question remains.
Will this company accept a custom order and at what extend?
I have already sent an email and i hope i will get the answer i want and fast. lol

ok now how bad is that? Big companies wont make any difference to their line of production for anyone because the are big and they are busy.
Small companies wont make anythi9ng different wither cause they are small and busy.
This is so disappointing isn't it? I mean what do i have to do for a company, in order to treat me as i want? as i need?
isn't enough the precious money that i give? the support i am giving through internet sights? the support i am givign them though my music? I demand the companies i love to care, otherwise what is the point?
Diezel or any other manufacturer is not only a company. There are people. Specific people.
Is it so stupid that i want to say to those people: hey please guys do this for me, cause i need it, i love it, i want it....
and even if this attitude is a common attitude amongst companies, should we be happy with it?
thnx guys for all of your post, i really want to hear your opinion about this one here....

Peter can mod an amp to your liking, but your delusional if you think he is going to totally redesign an amp for you.
Diezel is a company, but many of us also know them personally and know they have feelings for what is said about their company.
The way you are communicating seems like you are demanding instead of asking. In 2000 I bought my second VH4. It had some damage to the
faceplate and I wanted the presence circuit to be a bit brighter. I sent the amp to Salwender in January and Peter replaced the faceplate, changed the presence circuit
and did a few new upgrades he had designed. He also put new tubes in and did all the work while he was at NAMM. He sent me a KILLER amp back exactly how I wanted it and never charged me a dime !!! Our money is no different than yours and we should be happy Diezel is still a small enough company to listen. If you need a part, Peter starts the order, Lars picks it and packs it and Herbert runs it to the post office. They are wonderful people to deal with and I hope you don't think you can get your way buy starting
an internet campaign complaining about them not doing a mod or design for you. It's not their attitude, it's yours. Diezel has done nothing more than bend over backwards
in the last 12 years to help me. And I'm a nobody, but I am a polite nobody.

first of all thnx for your detailed reply.
I don't demand anything, and diezel as a company was a mere example.
And custom i don't mean redesign. I got something in my head but i will email them directly, i wont say it here.
I can say that i am generally disappointing with many companies that are not supporting their customers and supporters. I once asked Emg ( i own 20+ emgS) if i can do something to fit one of their pick ups to my parker fly. I send a bunch of emails and posts at their site as well... NOT a single answer. not even : no we cant help you.
i will never buy an EMG again, because of that. Godin guitars, is refusing to sell a part of their guitar if you want to upgrade it. More specifically, I wanted to install the midi controller to my model, (lgx) and they refused to let me buy it. (the lgxt model is a cheaper model with the addon i was looking for). In the reply the said me that i should buy a new godin. to me this is unacceptable as well...

thus my bitterness about some companies in general. not diezel specifically.

Many good points as to why we are with Diezel.

Dear Sonic,

why don´t send me an email and ask what´s possible ?

We can do some custom stuff but it´s maybe not
possible to make an AC30 sound out of a Herbert.

I answer (hopefully) all emails at

peterdiezel (at) diezelamplification (dot) com

There are people out there who are more than willing to try their best to make you happy - Diezel, Baron, Matamp, Soldano - they all will try their best to supply you, the customer, with the perfect amp/guitar/pedal/whatever.

I've learned to not bother with companies like Godin because I have never heard anyone say how supportive they are. If, however, I wanted a solid instrument at a decent price, they'd be one of the first companies I'd go. Matamp would be the best to go to if I wanted excellent customer service and choices. It's about picking your battles. Not every company is going to supply the same service as another.

Soldano is superb as well. All I ever needed was a pilot lamp socket in ten years though....

exactly. and imagine that the godin i was referring to, is a custom order specially made from me, and with godin himself supervising the guitar, 12 years back when things were not like they are now.
I have to say that Parker, the old parker actually mr Ken Parker himself is very helpful as well and cares about anything you have to say...

I don't understand your first sentence. Are you saying that Godin was supervising your custom guitar that you ordered 12 years ago?

Yeah, there are many many guitar builders and amp builders out there that are more inclined to help you than others. Often times, though, you have to pay extra. Which is perfectly fine in my eyes. At least I'm getting a product that was made by someone who knew how to make me happy.

I meant that, i made a special order to Godin guitars, and my guitar was supervised by godin himself when it was build. That took place 12 years ago. Godin and the greek distributor in greece, had promised me that i could buy the midi option whenever i felt like it. Ofcourse that never happened as when i wanted to have the part installed they told me that i cannot buy the part alone. I had to buy one of the guitars that where already equipped with midi.

It sounds like they're trying to rip you off. I would never tell a customer he has to buy another one of my products so that he could have what I promised installed.

I'm not going to speculate too much, though. All the best with the custom order!
