They both look great Peter, but I just love the trademark Diezel metal grill. It just looks mean and I know you're sick of it after 20 years, but you got it right the first time! It still has class and doesn't look dated at all. It just works. Also, it's really cool that you base a large portion of your product decisions on your buyers/community's opinions.
You rock sir!

Even though I truly believe "looks" of an amp ought to be secondary to its tone and playability, the metal grille does look immensely better

I agree with the first part but idk man... looks like an Einstein 2.0 to me...
But at least it kinda still looks like the Diezels we've come to know and love. And even if it looks like an Einy, it's not an Einy. Same as the headshell for the Herbert being the same as the Hagen - different guts, different tone.

I am still at a loss as to what this amp is supposed to do within the Diezel realm? I know it's a more affordable amp to the masses, but where's its strong points? What does it do? Where does it fit in the lineage of Diezel heavy hitters? Is it a sibling or offspring of the Herbert? Of the VH4 (doubtful :D )? The Hagen? The Einy? Where is it in the family?

I've seen the YT clips. They're not giving me what I need as far as sound quality goes... Would love a proper run through of this amp to really know what it's supposed to be. But OUTSIDE of all this, the grill looks way better IMHO.

If they send me one, I will make videos. :) :D

Honestly I'd like to see you go to Friedman's shop and demo/video all his wares, and the same for this D-Moll. High def, hi-fi clips.

That'd be the shiznit

Well, Papa, just saying I'd love to know what this amp does... Unless of course I'm getting one for tone testing and review, ahem... :D

I think we're all getting a bit itchy to get a handle on this new release. I get it, because I'm itchin' all the same

Since I have owned the Diezel VH4, VH4S, Einstein, Herbert MKI and MKII, I have been very accustomed to the main Diezel look but I am starting to really like this new look here.

I would like to see it with this new glass window but with an all black tolex covering.

I would have to get it with the all black tolex to match my black cabs.

And once they are sending them out here to California I will have to give one a try and determine if I should take it home (probably will since I fell in love with all my other Diezel heads (though I sold them all due to moving to a smaller place except for my 1st Herbert which has been my favorite Diezel amp)).

I am seriously thinking about selling my twice modded Herbert (I had a wattage mod done (only one ever done where you can select and run the amp as 60, 120, and 180 watts (or more easily stated as using 2 tubes, 4 tubes, and all six tubes) and a recent compression mod (it sounds better now than it ever did (and I thought it smoked before but now it sounds unrealistically amazing)) just to get this when it comes out.

Anyone know what the US price will be yet?

Actually, the more I look at the amp I find I really, really, like the look but I feel it must have all black tolex to match all my blacks cabs.

I hope someone gets a chance to record and demo it for us (local boys would be even better :-)).

grrr_me_scary.....What is this compression mod you speak of that you had done on the Herbert?

Yeah i keep hearing lately about this "compression" mod, what is it and hows it done?

Sorry guys, I lack the technical knowledge to provide the understanding of the electronic's detailing what was done for the compression mod.

However, it is set up to allow you to "uncompress" the amp as you turn the knob (don't turn the knob and nothing sounds different).

The volume of the amp does increase as you "uncompress" the amp and you compensate by turning down the volume on the amp.

I was blown completely away.

Everything sounded better, cleans are cleaner, rhythms more powerful and articulate, and leads sing even more.

I didn't think the Herbert could sound this way (I am a Herbert guy first then respectfully enjoy the other Diezel amps I have owned (I sold them all because of moving) and kept the Herbert because it was my favorite after a wattage mod was done to it (60, 120, or 180 watts being ran at any time)).

It sounds like it evolved to the next level, seriously.

Dear Gentlemen,

NO CONCERNS, THERE IS NO NEED FOR an "decompression mod"

I suggest it only for some old units.

Best regards,
Peter

Anyone know the US price yet?

Definitely interested because I would like a smaller amp to place in a rack case with my rack gear to make it easier to move (just roll it out and play).
