Diezel d-moll shipping yet ?

I should really add: I am starting to love this amp already! Probably was too sleep-deprived yesterday... today I switched it on, turned it up a little more and BAM I "clicked" with it! Nailbombs, Aftermaths and 59/09 all sounded great! Damn it is moving a lot of lows if you let it.
Wtf is wrong with you people!!?
Sorry man, not trying to GAS-tease but I really can't record here right now... and I am too scared the gear police will instantly confiscate the amp upon seeing/hearing my fail! :D

Ch3 felt very mid-focused, tons of gain - I will have to experiment with that channel more, not enough time.

Most importantly first impression verdict: coming from the vh4, this is not a "lunchbox-vh4" but quite a different and new beast, Diezel through and through and feels more modern in tone. Hagen/Herb? I would say overall it feels brighter with more "sizzle" on top, the overall character is definitely audible in the Messe videos on youtube! Very honest and open, different playing-feel than vh4 and the eq on the dmoll is very sensitive, so yea this is definitely a versatile amp and you can do a lot with the eq, your guitar's tone and volume and your fingers/picks. Each channel on the vh4 makes you pretty much instantly feel at-home and lazy to touch anything when playing alone with all knobs around noon, on the dmoll you somehow WANT to tweak and experiment and turn knobs and see what happens! Or maybe I have gotten too lazy going through 1-2-3-4 and was looking for the equivalent to "2" :lol: :LOL:

I will definitely have to try it at regular playing volumes though because at bedroom-levels the brighter character feels "thinner" compared to the vh4 at the same level, and therefore this is not not a good comparison at all, so more later.
Overall the vh4 feels like more evil and growl (lower-mids?) and dmoll is more aggressive, has comparatively more sizzle in your face. I guess that's where the "modern" comes from, fat lows and molten sizzle to cut through anything! :rock:

Thanks for the review. Need the D-Moll less high end ? ..... that´s not a big deal.
But think about, you are playing through V30´s at low level.

No, for me it really is great the way it is and I am looking forward to finally turning it up properly! :rock: I think the overall "brighter" character is going to cut especially well in a band context and it gives the dmoll a great character and different from the vh4.

Hey Raf! I just played the dog very shortly, I think if you like the dog you will also like the dmoll - maybe even more since it has those nicer cleans and on the other hand also more modern high-gain too. Definitely play one!

Then you turn the gain up more and you get the absolutely nicest low-gain/overdrive sound, keeps the attack-punch with much more "purrrrr" just at the right frequencies! This is seriously good and of course you can go right back to clean with your guitar volume, I think I just made my low-gain overdrive pedals obsolete.


Ch2 is very Diezel-mega-crunch-y with a unique, new character. Goes from low gain to evil in-your-face-chugga and is quite aggressive there but with lots of "meat", a very healthy tone and palm-mutes just make the ground shake... as much lows as you could ever want or need; also fast and punchy and cleans up really well - as in summoning-the-demons-from-hell back to some crunch and overdrive and pretty much down to clean-ish Jazz if your guitar and pickups allow for that. I expect you can use this as your one-channel-silver-bullet!
You know how some amps get kinda ugly thin and fizzy when you turn your guitar volume down far enough? Not the dmoll! You really get good tones across the whole range of your guitar volume pot!!! Time to seriously think about investing in good pots with treble-bleed-caps!


Ch3 is thicker/meatier, much more mid-focused; you instantly hear this when switching from 2 to 3. I think this really makes sense since 2 and 3 share an EQ and the more mids will help you stand out more for solos for example, so yea, Ch3 is a lead channel but you can also play thick riffs and chords. Engaging the midcut here is also great and makes for an interesting option.

tl;dr: Look, these lines all sound like I am trying to sell you a used car or something... When it comes down to it, much like the Joker, I am a man of simple tastes and instead of gasoline it's Diezel on my list... I don't want 1 million knobs and silly switches on my amp, they make me feel stupid for not knowing when to use them since usually they all don't do much anyway. I want a few great channels that match each other well enough in volume without taking days to dial the damn thing in. I want simple, reliable loops without 5 volume pots per loop. Really, you can call me ignorant if you want, but I just want to plug in and have fun playing after a shitty day. I feed the amp good pickups and from there I want to be able to use the guitar's volume and tone and my fingers to do the rest... so I can focus on noodling anything from jazz and blues and rock to metal. The dmoll delivers that in a versatile, handy package and when comparing the EU prices to the competition in that range here, this really is a no-brainer. If you like the Diezel tone then do yourself a favor, get one! In the long run this is cheaper than upgrading 2 or 3 times and you will have a lot of fun playing it and I am sure you won't miss anything.

Please don't mind my terrible playing and no structure and all that, I pointed an apogee MiC hooked up to an ipad at the box from a couple feet away, hit record and tried to noodle a bit whatever came to mind. No editing, no level matching, all EQs pretty much around noon, guitar straight into the amp.
I did not once switch channel during each clip, it is all just rolling back the guitar volume and different picking, especially for Ch2 and Ch3 - I mainly wanted to show the versatility and go to the possible extremes due to the amp being so very dynamic and responsive.

For Ch1 you hear 59/09 pickups, for Ch2 and Ch3 it is aftermaths. I think the clean sound turned out ok, quite close to what you actually hear when playing. 2 and 3 sound much better, clearer and punchier, heavier in real; the recording turned out a bit muffled since I did not touch the eq and AMs are darker and what not.
 
Thanks for posting that. Obviously not the ideal recording set up, but I think you can tell that amp is bad ass.

What was the cab and the volume level?
 
the rearloaded v30 2x12 from above.
master was set 9-ish and that was already LOUD :D

Thanks for letting the amp do the talking, and it has an evil voice and that mid cut option is great, makes me wish Peter would put mid cut options on a VH4 now
 
No hard feelings but I hope the amp doesn't actually sound like this.
Regardless of the price tag I really hope it's a true Diezel.

Huh. I thought it sounded vicious in those clips. Obviously not a professional recording, but seems to me you can tell the character of the amp is awesome. Responded well to the volume knob and sounded like a big, angry Diezel.
