Nice clip, Dallas !

Peter! Thank you very much, couldn't do it with out the great piece of equipment that is your amps!!! Seriously, great sounds inspire us all to play more!

Congrats, sounded really great, Peter should hire you!

Hahaha, I can dream right??? What a dream job that would be!!!

Seriously - it was great to hear some funky-soul-slappin-gnar tone coming out of that Einie :)

As for the comment about paying ya, seriously man, you could do a one-man gig at any place with ease and style...(providing you have about 50 to 60 minutes worth of fresh material). You've blended rhythm and solo and kept it interesting, and it's not in-yer-face death-nu-metal ultra-grind. I loved it. What kinda training do you have? Are you a self taught tab reader, or more a true music reading did-some-theory guitar player?

I'm interested...please do tell.

Hey Ventura,

Thanks I really appreciate it, honestly I'm really blown away by everyones comments. Um, well I have a musical background because I started out playing french horn when I was young through high school, but picked up guitar in the middle there, around 14 played in Jazz band h.s. for a few years, but I'm mostly self taught up until the past few months. I've been playing about 12 years now, and just started taking lessons because I'm going to be going to UM's music school this fall, and couldn't read music on guitar... I'm still really bad at it, but have been working a lot over the summer with some private lessons mostly on theory, sight reading and the like so I don't just get destroyed this fall when I goto school. It's kind of like this... playing/technique wise I'm 90% self taught/10% extra I picked from lessons this summer, random stuff like harp picking and ways of playing scale patterns I wasn't familiar with, music theory wise I've gotten a lot of help this past summer and will be getting a lot more at UM. I learned most of the stuff I knew/know by tab a long time ago as far as covers but I really don't even remember how to play much other than little wing these days, anything new I try and learn by ear or just sight read the chords and figure out the little extra by ear. I've been working a lot on ear training lately too. Over all I'm still more of a self taught player more than anything else... but I'm really expanding a LOT on my self teaching now with the help of others and it's starting to really pay off and take me to another level. Two years from now when I finish at UM, I can't wait to see how I play! Right now I'm focusing a lot on learning how to solo through chord changes, using arpeggios and transitioning pentatonic scales etc.

You can check out my solo album at myspace.com/dallasmarlow - but my style has drastically changed/improved since then I would say, I've become a lot stronger musician and my song writing will hopefully follow once I get back into writing and take a break from the technical side of stuff.

Thanks again, hope this answers your questions if you have more feel free to ask!

Sincerely,

Dallas

Hey man!

Thanks a bunch! I don't have many more right now but I'll make some more soon, I've got my new custom guitar that just finished and will be here Friday I'm going to make some clips of the diezel and that guitar then!

Here's the thread if you want to check it out - this is the 3rd page and pics of the finished thing are towards the bottom.

What would you like to hear? Really gainy stuff, clean stuff, ac/dc stuff, I haven't heard anything the Einstein can't do since I've had the amp it pretty much can do damn near anything. I do have to admit though that I don't really have the best set up for metal, in general most of my stuff is more vintage classic kind of sounds.

Let me know,

Dallas

your guitar looks very nice!! I bet it sounds great too..

Vintage is fine, I'm not a much of metalhead either... what would I like to hear? Some nice phat jazzy clean tones is something I havent heard from the diezel yet.. And I would love to hear from you some singing & smooth lead tones, from Beck (did you saw his new DVD Live at Ronnie's Scott?? amazing performance!) to fusion..

thank you,
Konstantine

I also have a small shot ...
In the German musicians board, someone has claimed the Einstein would have
too little heights an upper mids and I wanted to prove the contrary

sry for that bad quality, i have hang the mic in front of the cab quick and kick the amp on
to rock this 10 second sample ;)

EDIT:
Settings:
Bass 12, Mids 13:30, Highs 15, Presence 12, Deep 8, Gain 12:30

Damn Capt, I had no idea the Einstein could get that heavy sounding haha.. guess it's all how you set it up!

Ok Konstantine, when my guitar gets here tomorrow I'll make some jazzy clean tones for you! I have to say even though I run EL34's the Einsteins clean channel is still really pretty! I imagine with 6L6's or 6550s it sounds even better! But I can't live with out EL34's for everything else and usually use a pretty dirty clean most of the time haha!
