Diezel Mods? Einstein in particular

Yes - there is no difference, if you use the pedal for switching or the switch. I'd say, the gain is the "problem" - I need more gain in mode 1 (clean), that would be allright maybe for mode 2 (crunch) as well, if you role back your volume knob a bit, but mode 3 (mega) is far too compressed then. When I adjust mode 3 to mode 2, then my clean mode has too less gain (which results in a stiffer feel and dropped volume) - so I use a pedal for boosting the clean mode.
With a little help from a pedal or a multi-fx in the loop as Olaf said, you could make it working.
But only the mod-pedal won't do the trick - it is not a 4 channel amp, it takes a bit tweakin to get it working close to a 4 channel amp.

Greetings

Thanks - all is clear now. Looks like the midi-controlled multi fx route is the way to go.

..or try to use master 1 and master 2 to get the same volumes from the three modes...and clean booster in the loop if you need extra volume jump for solos.

. . . just buy a VH4 instead :D

For gigging purposes, I agree, the VH4 is the way to go.

Time to save my pennies!

Maybe im not getting it..but wouldnt you need a 4 channel footswitch since you have Channel 1. mode 1,2,3 THEN Channel 2?
That would make it so that you could switch to all FOUR modes rather than just the 3 from channel 1. What am i missing here?

Yeah, but 5 - you forgot Master 2 - and then for the combo 6 - for the reverb . . .

Hi all,
I know this thread has been dead a long time, but I have some questions and hope to get feedback from the experts.

I bought a used Einstein Combo Amp with reverb that already had the Tubelit conversion with a Diezel Einstein Reverb Roadie included. The amp with modification works perfectly and I love the sound that I get out of all 3 modes of channel one in addition to channel 2! :D

I agree with most on this thread that it is possible to achieve a decent compromise on volume for all 3 modes of channel 1 with a judicious choice of gain (i.e. between 1 and 2 o'clock). I also agree that one can further normalize the difference in all channel 1 mode volumes on the fly by judiciously selecting the Master 1 or Master 2 volume switch that is also available on the Tubelit Reverb Roadie. However, this becomes cumbersome to an mortal such as me on the fly, and am interested in understanding how to overcome these channel 1 mode volume differences with the aid of another fx device.

Many have mentioned the use of a G-Force FX device that will allow customization of channel 1 mode volumes when selected. More details on how to use such a device (or other devices that will achieve the same result) would be most appreciated! Would I connect the G-Force where my Tubelit Roadie is currently connected? Can I also add progammable effects to each mode using such a device? What type of FX unit is required to achieve this since the Einstein is still not a midi receivable amp after the Tubelit mod?

For example, I already own "Ground Control" unit that I have used in the past for rack gear. Can this device be used to control volume differences between the 3 modes of channel 1?

Please explain.

Thanks in advance!
