Diezel VH4 Nightmare - solved

Wanted to give an update on the VH4. This is embarrassing but true. I took the VH4 to Dave Friedman to go through it and track down the problem today. Dave set the amp up on his workbench, plugged it into a cab, plugged in his guitar, and................THE AMP SOUNDED AWESOME!!! I was sooooooo confused. I told him about the problems I had before, and he tested the amp and it was all good. To make a long story short, the problem was not with the head at all, but the guitarist who installed his own electronics in his guitars incorrectly. So let me give my first impressions upon finally hearing the Diezel VH4 in proper conditions. IT SOUNDS HUGE!!! I am very very happy with my purchase. What a cool amp!!! All 4 channels are really cool, but channel 3 is my favorite. Dave even ran me through the deep knob etc. (Also just to add some icing on the cake, I dropped off my JCM800 2204 for a Dave Friedman Brown Eye/Hairy Brown Eye Mod while I was there.) What is really cool about the Diezel is that it is not trying to be another amp. My Mesa Boogie Recto, Marshalls, etc are not replaced, but rather complimented. The VH4 has it's own sound. I think that if I was playing guitar in a band rather than producing, the Diezel VH4 would be the amp that I used as my main sound. First off, it sounds BIG! but it also seems to be extremely versatile. And to hear that their customer service is great as well just makes it easy to be a believer.

Man.......... it was a nightmare for me

Glad to hear You like the amp

Please say many thanks to Dave

I've never heard anyone say this about Channel 3 on a V before... How very interesting :hys:

Glad it all worked itself out - V's kickass

Thanks to Papa :worship:

I gotta tell ya, the first time I heard a V at solid volumes I thought it was processed to the hilt and that NO amp could make THAT tone on its own... How very wrong. I hate FX since having the amp (VH4 and 4S) because I just love the tone as is. It's superb and potent.

Cheers,
V.
