Digitech RP1000 connected to Renegade

Anyone using an RP1000 with a Renegade amp? I have mine connected using the 4 cable method and was only going to use the pedal for effects and not amp / cabinet modeling. The problem I have is I get no change in output, tone, or distortion when switching between channel 1 and channel 2 (It all sounds like channel 1) If I run the guitar straight into the amp without the pedal connected the channel switching works fine.
Am I doing some thing wrong?
 
I found my mistake--- even though I had the amp / cabinet modeling off on the pedal I didn't have the "amp loop" on ---so I believe it was skipping the Renegade pre-amp all together and just using the power amp. Works like I thought it should with "amp loop" turned on -- :doh:
