Who uses one in the neck position?

Any good?

I've read that the high-end can be kinda harsh. Any truth to that?

Hot? Really?

It's in their vintage output section.

It's good in the neck position if you want a hot pickup.

The Humbucker from Hell is one of the lowest output Humbuckers made

-DC Resistance: 5.89 K

The name is misleading, just as Duncan's Screamin Demon. The naming is meant for dudes who look for cool names of pickups without really knowing what they are looking at, or peek at the output and tone charts lol. This is fine by me as I love lower to mid output passive pickups.

My favorite neck pickup! Sounds great - certainly not high output. Sounds like a single coil with no noise…

Are we talkin' quacky, Yngwie-like tones?

Petrucci used the HFH on Images & Words and it doesn't sound like a single-coil to me at all

OK, Hot wasnt the right term. But Dimarzio vintage output humbuckers are still loud.

Just installed one in my Ibanez 540P and it sounds great, i wanted that single coil quack in the neck. I`m used to playing single coils in the neck position, i love the clarity they put out.

Humbucker from Hell, i think it looks great on this red and black devil guitar:

Perfect name for it ion this instance.

Yeah, well… I can't really say what he was doing... just what I observe in my guitars with my amp…

I rocked one for a while. Its a great sounding pup. Very single coily, but not a true single coil, so its quieter (in terms of noise/hum) and doesnt QUITE hit the single coil thing perfectly, but its SUUUUUPER close. Nice clarity, smooth and liquidy for leads, you can dial in a nice quack if you want to.

As far as the petrucci thing...you know as well as any one else that its a sum of parts...not just the pickup.
