Do power tubes matter?

He comes across like a genuine good guy that loves all things guitar/amp related. Great content too.

Yeah it was weird.

I sometimes enjoy his content but most anything he dials in is gonna sound the same. Lately he's been using real speakers as opposed to IR's and that helped, at least to me it did. But again, hard to determine anything on video especially when it's produced as he does. I mean he gets good guitar tones but really if you closed your eye's, it's all the same basic tone. That's fine though, it's the tone he likes to dial in.

Agreed. You can say that about a lot of geartubers though. I don't know if that says they naturally dial in the sound they like regardless of the gear or that differences in the amps are just that subtle.

Maybe; and the more likely reason, is once the tone gets processed and squashed by youtube many of the differenced that set amps apart are lost.

He got mad at us one day and sad he’s leaving . He didn’t like it if people said his Irs color everything to sound the same . Look I love his 8 string playing and his 8 string tone . But it sounds the same a lot even when he switches amps . Hes not a bad dude . He just don’t like constructive criticism . Which in reality we all do that to each on RT .Constantly .
 
Yeah they matter, but youtube videos dont really impart notions of "greasy warmth" vs "glassy throat". Gotta feel it yourself. ya know..
