Does auto-tune fool anyone anymore?

I guess 90% of the people who go to shows aren't musicians but how can you not hear the vocal assist here? I know Richie isn't what he used to be and nobody is, but auto tune sounds like a synthesizer laid over a voice and it fatigues my ear after a few minutes. Check out Sambora here and tell me there is no fuckery. It's brutal. No wonder we've lost originality in music. Everything sounds and is produced the same way because everyone needs to sound perfect.

My initial impression was that his vocals were dubbed in? Certainly didn't sound like someone singing live, but the whole thing was a bit cringy...

It's also infiltrated the guitar world with the Shreddage / virtual guitar software.

Actually fooled me playing Devils advocate
I think he is far from the worst offender
I heard some off notes there that auto tune should have corrected
If we are talking backups it might be on them
But he has Orthiani that can sing plus the drummer
And i would guess a few others in the band

I'd say the lead vox was selectively-tuned in post-mixing. Yes, some notes were retained as-is, but most are AT'd to fuck. I've noticed this creeping into so-called-live YouTube videos ever more.

Count me as someone who's friggin'-allergic to AT. Rips all the soul out of what should be our most-touching instrument - the human voice.

Who's to blame? I say the kids of today; they know not what they do... or have... or want. Get off my lawn! :gethim:

Some of these old rockers just look like fools up there today.

Sometimes I wish they would just retire...

I could only tolerate a minute of it, but that was my impression as well.
