Amp ho
Was doing some rearranging this evening and had to stop and admire these two old girls. I don’t really consider myself a recto guy, but they are fun there’s no debating it.

I'd put my money on your early G Triple.

Hey BTW some day you should try 5881s in that thing.
5881's are very underrated in general for any 6L6 amp (not just in Recto's, also Mark's, SLO's, etc) and the vintage US versions are generally a lot cheaper than their 6L6GC counterparts. Spend less $ for a richer tone lol. The best tone in that tube family (and even cheaper) are the 6L6G's, but it sucks that only lowered powered amps can really use them without blowing them

Triple recto
-Emg 81 equipped fiddle
-Red modern
-Silicon diode
-Dirty Tree or Sd-1
-Marshall 1960 cab

Only way I can enjoy a recto for metal
Had a dual way back in the day and was never really satisfied. Tried a multi watt and it was way tighter though

i will. how much different are the duals from the triples?? the triple was tighter than i was expecting

They actually have something in common.

They both need a TS or SD-1 in front to sound good. 😋

I don’t understand rectos, it’s a copy of the Soldano front end, with an inferior power section that gets flubby in the bass, so people turn it down to zero. You could just turn the bass off on an SLO to accomplish the same.

These really are the two amps. The rest are interesting. But never going to be these.

After A/Bing them live in the band, I personally disagree with this. I saw them as two (both very good) amps that really do different things.

If they were the same, metal guys would be using SLOs.

In the 2 channels the triples are quite a bit tighter. Personally much preferred for this reason.

In the MWs there's not as much a difference in tightness, however the mids are shifted. Like with the Marks as you add power tubes they tend to get more naturally scooped. Personally here I preferred the Dual's mids in the band.
