The one C Recto I've had, was amazeballs sounding. Those blue caps Mesa used are not the 'lifetime' lasting like the old Marshall Daly, LCRs..
I have played on a few C. They do sound good. I do prefer the F&G. But the C does sound good to me.

This individual amp that was in Seattle did not sound good at all. Whoever had it didn't take care of it. Physically thrashed.

Both me and Chris thought it sounded horrible.
I didn't see any reason to buy it and take a chance to fix it.

Extremely bright. No bass at all. Tons of hum and noise. No definition at all. It did not sound like any other C or Triple I have heard. It didn't even sound like any other Rectifier as far as that goes.

Honestly I feel like I hear some of those qualities in this clip of it. It's hard to tell though with so much fx clouding the core sound, but it doesn't sound very recto-y to me either

I've played 4 different Rev C's (2 of which I have) and they all sounded amazing. I actually haven't tried any stock Rev G (just a Hermansson modded one), but no Rev F I've tried was nearly as good, even my chrome chassis Rev F Triple modded to C by Mike B, which I thought was killer for a long time, sounded comparatively stale/flat/2D when AB'ed. The next best I've heard was an early serial Rev D I had. It was also an awesome amp

Agree 100%. I’ve had my C side by side with an F, two G Triples, and a C modded Triple, and ime the C is the Recto King. It’s the tightest, most aggressive, has the most growl, and most 3D. It also hit as hard and sounded as big as the Triples. I’ll also agree that the Rev D we’ve both owned was the next best.

This is the only recto clip I’ve ever heard that I can confidently say doesn’t sound like a recto. Not a good or bad thing, but surprising. Would be curious to hear this next to an F or G
