How many of you remember ordering shit from the catalogs of Sears, JC Penny, Best, or Brendel’s ? You order on day 0… 8 weeks later you get a call on your home phone or a letter in the mail saying it’s ready for pickup. It was like waiting for Christmas.

This is just part of doing business. I've found that if you are selling online and charging the same as legitimate businesses, people expect that same level of service that they'd expect from a business. If we think about that, people pay a private seller the same as they'd pay a brick and mortar business on the same platform.

I've found people are extremely understanding as long as there's communication. Life happens. That's the number 1 reason I don't accept money until I'm ready to o ship a pickup. I've gone beyond my time estimates many times, but before or by that date, I just email and let them know the deal.

I think a big part of the issue is that there are so many scams on these sites, that people always have that in the back of their mind and once they get a tracking number, it at least puts half of that at ease.

i offered a refund on shipping, but the thing is already en route, so i find it kind dumb to send the thing back for a full refund over a few days of waiting. i've been out of the gear flipping game for a while, but it seems like whenever i have to move something out of necessity, and i don't sell it to one of you fine folks on the forums, i have some kind of issue.

How many of those went bankrupt for failing to adapt to the market?

I'm with you. I wouldn't do a full refund until the item is returned, only because I would be concerned that not following the formal eBay return process could result in the refund not being recognized properly. I don't know

You old bastard......

I believe a lot went OOB before what we have in “today’s” market but you are probably 100% spot on.. superstores like Walmarts Targets with everything under the Sun in stock made the Sears of the world wilt and die on the vine. People want what they want and they want it immediately to feed the “hunger”; in our case “GAS”. Anything less is unacceptable….

I mean it's a delay pedal. Unless it was some rare shit the guy should just get over it even if it was a bit too long for it. Shit happens though. I work and go to school fulltime so sometimes I don't have time to eat without multitasking. So it's not like I can drop everything and ship a 50 dollar purchase. Just ask for them to ship the pedal back and refund them or offer some of their money back for the hassle.

I’ve bought a few things I’ve needed for a certain time with a few days leeway knowing people don’t always ship the next day, then of course the few days goes by with no shipment or communication, send a message asking what’s up only to get a message two days later telling me he can’t ship till the day after and now I’m not gonna have what I need for whatever I was doing and it can be a giant pain in the ass.

How many of you remember wiping your ass in the outhouse and using the yellow pages out of the middle of the sears catalog? Sometimes they were white but like regular paper. The regular pages didn’t have the same….grip…lol

Y'all remember "Service Merchandise"? Man I loved that store when I was a kid; they always had the coolest gadgets you couldn't really find easily anywhere else....high end audio and video stuff, even decent entry level guitars and amps

In fact I got my very first amp that had preamp gain there.....an Epi 15 watt combo.

At the time I thought it was the raddest goddamn thing ever

I was just talking about Service Merchandise the other day and was asking my wife if she remembered them. I used to love those stores too - before that they were Wilson's.

If you get upset about four days to ship, you really don't want to apply for a passport or renewal these days.

so 4 days it took me to ship a delay pedal, which i admit isnt perfect, but i dont think is unreasonable. buyer started messaging me tuesday asking why it wasnt shipped yet. i have almost 1600 feedback score, all 100% dating back to 1998. am i wrong to think they are being a bit pushy? is this how it is now?
Just remind him it's a "delay" pedal and he got what he paid for.

Personally, Id probably be upset at waiting four days just for something I purchased to be shipped.
Today, everything is expected to be accomplished fast and without delay.
99% of the time I ship very next day...

But I think I also have to agree with @mooncobra, as long as I was made aware beforehand that the shipping may take a couple days, I imagine I'd be ok with it...
