I have owned two 20th Anniversary Shivas. Great amps. However, after playing an Ecstasy, I realized that the old-school Twin meets Modified 1959 Model SL was my sound. So I bought a 101b. After reading all the glowing reviews of the 20th Anniversary Ecstasy, I bought one yesterday (EL34 model). What do I think?
Uh...maybe I got a bad one.
I must have gotten a bad one, OR my tastes are completely anachronistic.
I rarely use my 101B RED channel, but when I do (with humbuckers), I like this tone (in which I try and approximate EVH's "transition tone" - Starfleet, 1984, Beat It, Wild Life, David Letterman appearance

The 20th didn't get that...weird. I swapped tubes and everything.
