ESP = Electric Sound Products

Thanks. Any likes or dislikes on certain models they make? Models to avoid? Sleepers?

Which ones are you looking at? They have so many different models and such.

Dunno yet. Possibly an LPish model or superstrat with H H config.

If you go used, you can find a lot older models on Ebay for decent prices. Check out their Japanese website too, they get much nicer guitars over there than we do here.

if you get the chance, try an alexi siggy. i wanna know how those are.

guitar city/drum land has a shit load of ESPs on their site....some of the used ones look pretty good too.

Just go on the ESP or BMusic forums, a shitload of people own those.

i currently own 7 esp guitars and have 1 more on order. ive owned about 15 esp total ranging from ltd to esp customs. i also can get you some discounts on esp stuff if you find something you like. i love my esp stuff and never had any problems other than they can be slow at releasing newer models. at the moment i have a kh2,kh3,kh20,jh2,eclipse custom shop in trans black,GL-56, and custom shop alexi.

i have owned a few of the eclipse models are pretty nice if you want a lp shape but i will warn you they are a different animal and dont sound or feel like a gibson, they do have their own sound and feel and lots of guys love them.

i also owned 3 alexi models and i love them, i have the al-398 custom shop model right now.

ive also played a bunch of lynch models and ive owned most of the kh models and still have 3 of them.

the ninja v is pretty cool and so is the mII series stuff.

if you have any questions im more than happy to help.

ESP Japan gets better models.
They had this single hum model with a banana headstock that was TITS!

i agree about esp japan getting better models, my custom shop alexi is a esp japan models and i like it way bettter than the esp usa shaped alexi, i also like the mx-250 and we dont get it in the usa which sucks.

Cool. So let's focus on LPish models for now. I take it that the LTD line is the little brother to ESP like Epiphone is to Gibson or am I totally wrong?

Mohagany body and neck, stop tail config, maybe a figured top but not a necessity and fret markers would be good lol. Maybe a flat top instead of carvetop, or do they all come with flat tops? Im a total ESP noob so forgive the stupid questions.

like gibson there the lower line epi models, gibson usa models and then there gibson custom shop.

esp has the ltd which is their lower level line which arent made in japan, then theres esp standard series and then esp custom shop. most sig series are now like standard series and most arent made in the custom shop for the usa market unless they have either a custom shop logo instead of a sig series logo or sometimes you will see a sig series logo but the guitar will have a serial number starting with k and that means its built in the k-shop which is custom.
it can get pretty confusing, ive owned certain models in both custom shop and sig series models and the customs were nicer imo.

Like Zao said, the eclipse doesn't have a lot in common with an LP other than body shape, so I'd play one first and see what you think as they definitely have their own feel and sound, IMO.

The only ESP's I like are the Edwards LP copies and their George Lynch Relic Strat. Their other guitars are far too metal for me.

I have a feeling their Super Strats will feel entirely too much lik shred guitars for you to dig. Unless you've started digging that feel recently. But I always took you for a traditional kind of guy like myself. :)

The Lynch models do not have thin necks, not sure what the relic has.

That said I am still pissed as shit that ESP re-issued the Serpant and it is an LTD   :aww:
