I added a new clip for everyone to hear of a new song idea i wrote and am working on today. its just the EG5 with my VHT 2/90/2 (6550s) and a marshall 4x12 w/ g12t75's w/ one mic (a sm57). The clip is on the Eggie Clip collective thread that is sticky.

The single tracked guitar part is the EG5 channel A (G - 11, B - 1, M- 11, T, 12:30, bright / bass switches off). Same settings for the heavier sound (channel B EG5) but with the gain on about 2 oclock.

Be nice as its a rough idea i did in about 40 minutes. I played all parts (drums, guitar, bass).

link to the clip (for those who don't want to go to the other topic ;) )

Sounds kick ass man! The rythm tone sounds really thick, how many tracks is it? Makes me want a Egnater even sooner now!

the heavy stuff is double tracked....the lighter gain stuff is one track. i recorded it pretty much in 3 takes.... one for the lighter gain riff and and double tracked for the heavier sounds. one microphone each take. just a 57 on a g12t75 marshall 4x12.

Ive been thinking about which module I want for my modern rhythms, and this clip MAY have sealed it. Excellent tone! Im used to quad tracking heavy rhythms, but that sounds massive!

EG5 all the way man!!!! :) I used to do a lot of multiple mic tracking....etc etc. Egnater M4 w/ a EG5 and a SM 57 is all I need ;).

Eric,
I really like that idea for a song, Great Groove.
Guitar sounds Awesome!

Really like that Eric! Great tone and a cool tune for sure!

OH YA BABY!!!!
Gotta get a MOD50 with EG5!!!!
Nice playing - thanks for sharing!

You guys are going to think I'm crazy, but I think I like the SL2 more than the EG5.

its a personal preference man. the SL2 is a baaaad ass module :). I personally use the SL2 for my leads on Channel B. I put a Chinese 12ax7a in V1 and EH 12ax7eh in V2, and its punchy, and very smooth. The EH in V2 helps smooth out the highs some which for me is perfect for solo'ing. But if I gigged with my Mod50, i'd for sure use the T/D and EG5 since my main rhythm tone is my EG5.

I love them all!!! :)

I don't think you are nuts. I love my SL2. I can't decide which I like better actually. I'm bringing the EG5 tonight for the gig, but I'll have the SL2 with me as well. I think the band situation is where the EG5 shines.

Nope, dont think your crazy at all. I swap between those two modules alot. I love them both. They suit slightly different moods for me. I suppose if I could only have one, it would be EG5, but man that is a close call.

Eric, great clip man! I just love the neck pickup tone on that EG5......

I had originally had a big post here, but it was hijacking your clip so I deleted it!! Sorry.

Love it...already got vocals for it! Nice Kings X run at the end of the chorus.
