I know this is an old thread....but wanted to bring it back up due to some speaker swapping I have done.
First off the bat.....Scumbacks were nto for me, I tried them and moved on.....I got tones that killed without having to spend for those.
WGS Vet30/ET65 combo is just killer in my Bogner 212 and I tried this speaker mix with my Egnater before selling. Very full, good cleans to heavy alternative. A little darker than the Celestion variants.
English Celestion V30(4416 cone) mixed with English THD modded Celestion Classic Lead 80. Big warm cleans and thick mids! Love it!
I am going to be trying a Celestion G12K-100 mix with my other English V30 shortly and will post back. I am trying to use the speakers I have rather than buying more so I might go with another CL80/Vintage 30 mix in my Mesa Rectifier 212 vert cab since I am finding the G12K-100 too clean and clear and scooped.
