So, are most of their speakers based on Green Backs? Scumbacks always keep me confused. The H hasa little more "fat" to it?
3MS: Shoot me an email if you need some deciphering of the model names/numbers. I do have the following information on the site, which should answer some questions you might have.

Here's the Scumback to Celestion cross reference page: http://www.scumbackspeakers.com/reference.html

Jim:

My eggie 4x12 sounds friggin fat as hell!!! :) Can't wait to get those 3 8 Ohm 100 watters to put in my 2 - TM212s for a Celestion K100 / M75 combo. I just plain love the M75. The M75 has a killer "brown sound" type of a vibe w/ the more modern flair of the K100...gives you a ...i hate to say it..."modern brown sound" all rolled into one. The top end and the big tight bottom end of the K100 fits really well with the M75's killer mids. I've been running my Scumback M75 loaded 4x12 on the L of my RT2/50 w/ a K100 loaded 1x12 on the R of my RT2/50..and man it's massive. MASSIVE beefy, warm, tons of clarity, and the right amount of bite and snarl. I'm super impressed man.

Can't wait for my M75s to break in even more!!! :)

aeroic:

How does the M75 do pushed cleans & mid gain tones?

Thanks for being such a great speaker resource.

I can answer that one. I'm sure Eric will chime in as well, but this speaker does it all great. Pushed clean and mid gain it excels big time. Just fantastic.

+100000 here. I'd say the ONLY thing it doesn't do well...is super high-gain scooped "death metal" type of stuff. But anything up to and including Killswitch Engage type stuff is definitely there.

I'm gonna use a M75 and a K100 in my TM212s for my "heavier stuff". Leaving the Egnater 4x12 w/ 4 M75s for more of a classic feel. Have the K100 in my Mojo 1x12...which just sound fantastic.

IMHO The M75 and the K100 are the two best rock speakers out there. Seriously..I've tried them all!!! :)

But the M75 doesn't just do rock...and neither does the K100. They are great for anything honestly. I like the K100 / M75 setup because it has a killer full range sound together.

Eric

I'm definitely interested in the M75s. I'm also intrigued by the Weber Silver Bells. Anybody have any thoughts on whether these two speakers would mix will in a 2x12?

Eric,

I'd be really curious if the K100 / M75 is still your go-to speaker combo? I already have K-100s in my Bogner 212 and was thinking of trying a mix of the K-100 and G12-65 and would think that might be similar to your set up. One point through, the M75 is like 97db? The K-100 is 99db...does that cause a volume issue as in the K-100 drowning out the M75?

Check his sig - looks like he's abandoned the K100 in favour of a rainbow of different Eminence speakers. Still rockin' the M75's in the TM4x12 though!

Eminence makes great speakers but I was talking to Trace at Voodoo amps through email and he said they did a lot of testing with pros using Eminence and Celestion and the Celestions came out on top in band settings.

Yea, looks like Eric has moved on from the G12K-100 to the Eminence Governor. I do love the K-100! It is similar to a CL-80 and the two mix so well.
