Egnater Amp Class is Killer (Pics)

I did mine in May. You can change the sound quite a bit. I think changing things in this amp and hearing the differences have helped me decide what I like in an amp, thus helping end my constant amp gas - and that's why I took the class, so my mission was successful!

Cool man, glad to hear you had a good time. Yeah, those amps are killer. I'm still tweaking mine, it's real fun to change things and hear how it affects the sound.

When did you build your amp?
I am curious if changing the caps and resistors has a noticeable effect or just subtle.
I've been a little bit timid on diving in with my soldering iron - hate to ruin the nice tethering Bruce did to the amp.

Bruce modded one of the heads in real time.

and, to my ears, the standard Bruce design was, BY FAR, the best sounding.

The mods just seemed to make the amp brighter or darker, which I didn't think it needed.

The only mod I might want would be LESS gain so the clean channel is cleaner.

BTW, a NOS 12AU7 in the V1 sounds f-ing sweet!

Since V1 has the first two gain stages, does the 12AU7 tame some of the overdrive??

interestingly, there isn't much jam time on sunday.

we talked tech from like 9am to 7pm.

there was so much badass gear there I didn't even get to try.

Ive taken my beating the last two years at NAMM. I didn't see you taking a beating last year, why is that?
