Here's a quick song I did to test out the 410 on "tape." Don't mind the "flubs" on the solo. It was totally improvised on the fly...one take.

Rundown of the settings / setup:

Mic - Shure SM7B on axis right at the cone / dustcap
Guitar - Handmade Strat (Mahogany body, flame maple neck, with Fender Eric Johnson pickups)
Amp - Mod50 - Tung Sol 6550s, Low power mode using the THD Hot plate at -16 DB
Cab - Egnater Renegade 4x10

Modules
Rhythm - ChB Twin - Gain (dimed), Bass (dimed), Mids / Treble (noon) - Reverb Tank (noon), Density (10 oclock), Presence (noon). 2 Tung Sol 12ax7s
Lead - ChA / B COD - Gain A (11 oclock), Gain B (11 oclock), Bass (dimed), Mids (noon), Treble (2 oclock), Reverb Tank (10 oclock), Density (10 oclock), Presence (noon). 2 Jan Philips 5751s

Bass - Pedulla Thunderbass 5 running into a Sansamp RBI and Universal Audio LA-610

Drums - Superior Drummer

Here is the MP3:

I love it man. That Twin module is the SHIT!!! in the Mod50 on Low Power mode. So is the DLX too :)

I dont need a 4x10 cab  I have been running COD and EG3/4 in my Mod50 lately.

I need my RMod100 back so I can use my EG5 and get the TM412 cab. Cant seem to get my eg5 to sound right running through the M4/ RT2/50 or M4/Mesa MKIII return.

ahahaha...yeah...for bluesy rock...man..the 4x10 is just amazing. The Twin / COD are the 2 modules I absolutely LOVE w/ the 4x10.

 Even with daflubs it still sounded great man

It's amazing how easily the Eggie 4x10 records. Love the tone a LOT...that's for sure ;)

Nice setup!!! im toying with getting a thd. my mesa is 8ohm so i might jump on the one R.Milbeck has.

Kinda cool how you use the COD more overdriven and I run it more clean, gain 8:30ish on Ch. A and gain 11-12 oclock on Ch. B. Goes to show you how versatile the Egnater Modules are.

I think my Mod100 setup is going to be T/D, COD, EG3/4.

Keep the recordings coming man!!! Sounds Great.

MP3 has been updated w/ a re-recorded bass part...which sounds sonically better IMHO.

Great tones... especially for pointing directly at the dustcap. That sometimes can sound harsh, but not at all here!

:2thumbsup:

Great job, E.

Well...it wasn't directly at the "dustcap"...it was pointed at where the dust cap / cone meet. That's the sweet spot for me when I place mic's.

Eric

Me too. That's definitely the sweet spot.

I found the SM7B to be A LOT less picky than the SM57, as far as placement is concerned. As long as you got it in the general area, it sounded great. If you're a 1/2 inch off with the SM57, your tone could be ruined.

Agreed on the SM7B vs SM57. It was like...blam...sounds great right there. Moved it around and tried other spots...and was like...uhm...that just sounds great right where i put it. Can't wait to try the SM7B on the K100s :)

Nice tones Eric, I like that 4X10. Since I have fallen out of love with my 2X12 I may have to try it some day if they ever get one in around here.
