I know Shane at Maken so maybe I'll see if he knows anybody closer. I thought the guy next door was a guitar tech, not an amp tech?

I don't know how far you are willing to drive for a cap change. I have a tech here in Niles, he is fine, but still not that great. I mean most of the time I just go there with parts & already knowing what needs to be done & have him do it. They have known me for a while, so they kinda take care of my stuff momentarily, so I don't have to wait. I know they have fixed my mesa pre a while ago, this one I didn't know what the problem was & it took them a month! The only high praised tech I know around here is the guy who works next door to makenmusic, had no experience with this guy myself, but the word is he's the best in town. Then again, driving that far for something you already know makes not much sense I guess.

I´m the best, just send me ticket :D

Peter, good one  . We know you're the best, wish you were here. Sorry though, can't swing the tickets but if you're ever in Chicago area you always have a place to stay/visit!

I have no definite answer for you, other than what I've been told. If you know Shane he should definitely know about this guy more than anyone else, so PM me what you find out. If you wanna go to my tech in Niles, PM me, he should be able to take care of you without even leaving the amp with him, you might have to hang around for a couple of hrs. BTW, get some silicon from home depot & give it to whoever you decide should do the job. Now that the plastic wrap isn't there, you definitely want some silicon to hold that thing on the board, instead of having all the weight on the solder joints.

I would, but I have a requirement. You have to stay here permanently! :D
I tell you what, if you decide to stay in Chicago I'd bet a lot of guys would pitch in for tickets & probably much more!
