It doesn't alter the tone in any way because the switching inside the amp is done with relays and I just parallel the power-supply switching of those relays, their coils actually. No interference with the signal path.

Excellent. Sould any competent amp tech be able to figure out how to do this on their own or would they need to contact you for some sort of schematic?
What your tech needs can be found here:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=24857&hilit=unofficial

One thing is that the page above is working with a 3 button switch for channel 1 only it looks like. Would there be any additional info my tech would need for the 5 button switch or is this something he should just know? {I'm pretty tech illiterate btw, so I apologize if this is a pretty ridiculous question}.

Just show him the footswitch which came with the amp (channel/master) and he should know what to do to integrate that into a new enclosure. Not really a big deal, you know . . .

I am having the mod done as we speak. My buddy had his done and it works great.

HOW MUCH ?

i already have the channel one mod, but this thing is flawless. i need it. yo if you still have boredom, please build me one ;)

Hi Olaf, could you share the dimensions of the enclosure used for pedal?

I have some pedal enclosures painted from http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/, they do it very good. They even do Screen Printing, but the setup cost of 150$ per design doesn’t make it worth for 1 or 2 pedals.

Maybe if its enough interest in the forum at least 10 enclosures for custom painting and screen printing we could go for a bulk order? Just the idea to get the enclosure professionally done, I would defiantly want one. So if someone is interested to join let us know.

P.S I'm not related to mentioned company in any way :)

Hello,

Sorry to say that, but there's nothing realy new on this mod.
I posted mine, two years ago !!!

My mod was made by a qualified tech, using a simple lowcost Marshall footswitch.
http://www.thomann.de/fr/marshall_mrfs05d.htm

The techn found himself how to connect and wire it, it's apparently not difficult.

At first I was a little disapointed by the levels of the 3 modes of channel 1.
But as it had been said, with the good settings of gain and vol, it's an amazing mod.

Nobody claimed that I've found the new world equation, but after I've posted the schem for the mod with a schem for a pedal (just for channel 1 mods) I got so much requests to build pedals, that this is just an "update" to the original thread.

My intention is not to build or sell pedals but to inspire guys to make their own pedals.

yup, Olaf's always been VERY down to earth with his mod. Actually the first thing he recommends is you take the amp to a tech to get it done well and safe. He's not making a business out of it at all. You just pay for the parts. He's time and investment is way more valuable than what you pay.

Sorry if I offend you, it wasn't the purpose.
I just wanted to advise that it will cost less, to start with an existing switch like the marshall and to mod it. It is exactly like the original switch but larger with 5 buttons.

At the time I posted my mod, but I didn't talk to much of it, cause I know that Peter don't like users to do that.

There's only one thing my tech didn't manage to do :

Automatically "un-switch" channel 2 to return to channel 1, when modes 1,2,3 are engaged on the switch.
He told me that to do that, a new relay in the amp is necessary, and that would be more difficult.
I don't know if you managed to do this. And I didn't really understand what he told me with my poor knowledge in electronic !

Olaf, can you tell me what is the settings of you eq, presence and deep to get those amazing pinched harmonics ?
Wich tubes do you use ?
I can't get this sound with mine
I love the tone of my Einstein, but I find it darker than yours...
